Company Overview
Embark on an enriching journey with PROCEPT BioRobotics, where our vision, mission, and values guide everything we do as a company. At PROCEPT, we put the patient first in everything we do and are committed to revolutionizing treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, otherwise known as prostate gland enlargement) through innovation in surgical robotics. As our company succeeds and grows, we improve the quality of life of patients, provide more effective treatment options for surgeons, uphold the trust of our shareholders. That starts with a commitment to our People with a focus on creating an evolving landscape for your career, brimming with transformative opportunities that provide continuous career growth opportunities.
The Opportunity That Awaits You:
As a Senior Equipment Engineer, you will bring your hands on expertise to develop new equipment, improve current equipment designs and equipment documentation, manage equipment projects, and perform root cause analysis of non-conforming equipment. This role will contribute to company projects by developing new/modified fixtures, supporting the Production line via fixture improvements/troubleshooting/NCMRs, leading internal equipment improvement initiatives, and working with suppliers to develop new complex fixtures. An ideal candidate will have the ability to design and develop complex fixtures, be able drive projects to closure, be an excellent cross-functional collaborator, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities at once.
What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
- Equipment Design: You will apply your experience in mechanical design (ideally in manufacturing applications) to develop new equipment and develop upgrades/improvements to current equipment, specifically with ergonomics, reliability, and Production scale in mind.
- Complete Knowledge and Understanding of Equipment Documentation and Processes: You should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of equipment documentation and processes. You will revise equipment documentation to improve equipment repeatability and robustness. You will also be responsible for updating the equipment control systems for equipment that you revise or implement.
- Test Equipment: You will provide test equipment solutions that prioritize throughput, ergonomics, and repeatability. You will be capable of developing or working with outside vendors to develop automated solutions for testing product. You will be able to prove repeatability of test methods by authoring Gauge R&R protocols, executing the protocols, and analyzing the data before writing clear and concise reports.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: You should be capable of assessing unusual circumstances using sophisticated analytical techniques. This involves identifying the root cause of problems and applying advanced problem-solving methodologies to resolve them effectively.
- Creativity and Innovation: You should be able to resolve a wide range of issues creatively, suggesting variations in approach when necessary. This implies thinking outside the box and proposing innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Non-conforming equipment: You will support the Production line by determining the root cause of equipment non-conformances
Complexity and Problem Solving:
- Problem-solving: Work on problems of diverse scope where information analysis requires evaluating identifiable factors by identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during the design and testing phases. This may involve troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, optimizing automation processes, or improving system reliability.
- Risk Management: Conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with equipment and automation designs and implementing measures to mitigate these risks.
Collaboration and Interaction:
- Collaboration: You will work closely with other engineers, including R&D Engineers, manufacturing engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers to integrate different components into the design and ensure compatibility.
- Mentorship: You will be expected to mentor more junior engineers, helping them develop their engineering skills and supporting their projects as needed to help them grow as team members.
- Training and Support: You will provide training and technical support to manufacturing personnel or end-users to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and automation systems.
- Project Management: You will manage projects related to equipment or automation design, including setting timelines, allocating resources, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery of deliverables.
Training:
- Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
- Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality and EHS policies.
- Support manufacturing personnel through training and troubleshooting.
