Senior Environmental Governance Business Partner (Climate, Biodiversity, Environmental & Social Due Diligence)

Netherlands, The Hague, 2511 DP Full time

Senior Environmental Governance Business Partner (Climate, Biodiversity, Environmental & Social Due Diligence)

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be apart of our journey.

APM Terminals’ growth strategy requires that environmental, climate, biodiversity, and social risks are partnered closely with the business — not managed in isolation or addressed only as late‑stage compliance checks.

The Senior Environmental Governance Business Partner (Climate, Biodiversity, Environmental & Social Due Diligence) role is a strategic business‑partnering function. It provides integrated environmental and social risk expertise across the full project and asset lifecycle — from early investment screening and BIM transitions to operated terminals.

This role is essential for enabling informed investment decisions by ensuring that environmental and social risks are:

  • Identified early,

  • Consistently assessed,

  • Translated into business‑relevant trade‑offs, and

  • Governed at the right decision level before capital is committed.

It sets and maintains environmental governance frameworks, defines standards, and partners with the business to influence investment, design, acquisition, integration, and divestment decisions across the lifecycle of terminal assets.
