The Senior Enterprise Architect, reporting to the Associate Vice President, Enterprise Architecture, will play a key role in developing the target state of technology architecture across the business. You will collaborate with senior business and IT leaders to develop capability roadmaps, identify emerging industry technologies for business application, and optimize our overall technology portfolio.
What you will do
Lead the development of target state architectures that drive business outcomes, ensuring a seamless end-to-end process flow
Collaborate with architecture and IT business leaders to create and refine capability roadmaps that align with strategic objectives
Make informed architecture decisions by leveraging deep expertise in open and industry standards, as well as current and emerging technologies, products, patterns, and approaches
Actively engage in the Architecture Community of Practice, sharing insights and presenting at key events
Create capability heat maps by consulting with business and IT stakeholders, assessing desired capabilities against the existing technical landscape
Oversee the mapping of applications to capabilities and manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
Ensure the addition, maintenance, and execution of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and technical health assessments for all relevant assets
Review and provide constructive feedback on architectural standards, principles, and design patterns to promote best practices
Participate enthusiastically in Architecture and Technology review boards, ensuring solution architects adhere to established Enterprise Architecture patterns and practices
Lead efforts to rationalize applications, optimizing the technology portfolio for efficiency and effectiveness
Advocate for sound decision-making in build-versus-buy discussions; when purchasing solutions, represent Enterprise Architecture in the RFx process and evaluate new technologies for compatibility with existing standards, recommending adoption where appropriate
What you bring
Minimum 8 years of experience in a large technology environment with roles in architectural leadership; experience in retail, banking, telecom, or automotive sectors is preferred
Familiarity with both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies
Background in cloud technologies and cloud architecture patterns
Interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to facilitate collaboration and credibility in developing cross-organizational and vendor relationships
Certification in an architectural framework such as TOGAF or Zachman is considered an asset
Knowledge of retail or supply chain applications, hardware platforms, operations support, cybersecurity, and cloud environments is advantageous
Ability to manage change and ambiguity in a dynamic retail environment
Critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and visualize target states for ongoing business improvement
Experience building business and technical relationships with various stakeholder groups to advance initiatives
Communication skills for explaining complex topics to diverse audiences, including both operational staff and executive leadership
Our typical hiring range is between $81,000.00 and $131,000.00 per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
