Senior Engineer – Software Tools Testing

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our Software Tools team, focusing on automated testing of our signal chain design platform. This role is ideal for someone with a background in Electronics Engineering and a passion for building robust test automation frameworks that validate analog signal workflows and graphical outputs.

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites that ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of Precision Studio. Your work will help streamline validation efforts and improve test coverage, enabling faster and more reliable releases.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product requirements and specifications to design automated test strategies for signal chain workflows and analog visualization outputs.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and tools (e.g., Python, Selenium, PyTest).
  • Validate graphical outputs (e.g., waveforms, frequency responses) through automated comparison against expected analog behavior.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous validation and regression testing.
  • Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain test data and simulation scenarios for comprehensive coverage of analog signal chain use cases.
  • Provide metrics and reports on test coverage, stability, and performance trends.
  • Contribute to improving test infrastructure, tooling, and automation best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in test automation for software applications, preferably in engineering or simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of analog signal processing, signal chain components, and visualization techniques.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for test development and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework, Playwright).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience automating tests for engineering tools such as SPICE simulators or signal chain design platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and test reporting dashboards.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to performance testing and test data generation techniques.
  • Experience in using GenAI tools.
