The Team:

Join a forward-thinking team at the forefront of data engineering within the S&P Global Market Intelligence Division. The team focuses on building scalable data platforms and advanced analytics systems that transform raw data into actionable insights using cutting-edge cloud technologies.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms across cloud environments using AWS and Google Cloud managed services.
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, Amazon MWAA (Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow).
  • Build and optimize APIs (RESTful services) and microservices-based architectures.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale data processing.
  • Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud environments (GCP/AWS).
  • Debug and resolve production issues, ensuring high system availability.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL/T-SQL for data processing, transformation, and automation.
  • Hands-on experience in building backend applications, APIs, and services.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL optimization.
  • Understanding of modern agentic/LLM solution architectures (prompt lifecycle management, evaluation, governance, security).
  • Experience with REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, JSON/XML data formats.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, Amazon EMR, AWS Lambda, Amazon Athena, AWS Glue, and AWS Step Functions.
  • Experience with Google Cloud services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Cloud Data Fusion.
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and development best practices.
  • Proficient in cloud technologies (AWS), automation tools (Maven, CI/CD pipelines), and version control systems (Gitlab/Github).

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Exposure to Big Data technologies and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing).
  • Experience in cloud migration projects (especially GCP).
  • Exposure to enterprise LLM platforms and cloud-native GenAI services, such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Service, or Vertex AI, and patterns for integrating them into analytics and data products.
  • Experience with Scala is a plus.
