Senior Engineer – Automation Test Engineer – Playwright / Rest Assured (4–6 years) 

About the Role 

The Automation Test Engineer contributes to developing and executing automated test suites to ensure consistent application quality. The role involves working closely with developers, senior testers, and business teams to deliver functional, stable, and well-tested applications aligned to sprint goals. 

Required Skills  

• Experience in Playwright automation (preferred). API Automation and strong Rest Assured + Java/Js/TypeScript automation skills.  

• Ability to build test cases, automate regression scenarios, and maintain scripts.  

• Understanding frameworks like TestNG/JUnit/Maven/Gradle.  

• Hands‑on experience with defect management tools (Jira, ALM, etc.).   

• Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, and basic AWS knowledge.  

• Knowledge of testing best practices such as shift-left testing.  

• Experience with API testing clients like Postman 

Responsibilities   

• Requirement Discussion & Clarification  
  Work with PO and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into concrete test scenarios.  

• Test Design & Automation  
  Create test cases, automate them using Playwright + Java/TypeScript and ensure scripts are robust, reusable, and maintainable.  

• Sprint & Regression Validation  
  Execute test cases, automate regression packs, and ensure prompt feedback to developers.  

• Defect Management  
  Log defects with clear reproduction steps; collaborate with developers to retest and close defects quickly.  

• Documentation & Jira Hygiene  
  Maintain proper coverage in Jira: test cases, execution logs, comments, and status updates.  

• Support Testing Activities  
  Assist in creating test scripts for UAT, support test data preparation, and validate results.  

• AI‑Assisted Productivity  
  Use AI tools (GitHub Copilot, browser automation helpers) to speed up test script creation and refactoring.  

• Continuous Refinement  
  Suggest improvements in automation framework, coverage, and sprint testing processes.  

• Soft Skills 

Strong communication, learning mindset, reliability, and collaboration 

Qualifications  

• 4–6 years of experience in testing with strong automation exposure.  

• Solid Java/Js/TypeScript programming skills.
