Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking an experienced Senior Production Control Engineer to support Silicon Photonics manufacturing and development deliveries in Malta, New York.  This role combines production control expertise with data analytics to optimize photonics wafer fabrication, improve cycle time, and enhance yield performance. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven insights to support scheduling, WIP management, and predictive modeling for photonics device manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare manufacturing production schedules and workflows to establish sequence and lead times, ensuring timely shipment aligned with forecasts and customer orders.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust plans to address unforeseen conditions, including estimating impacts.
  • Analyze plant capacity and production requisition data to determine processes and resource requirements; prepare reports to drive efficiency, quality, and productivity improvements
  • Commit to production goals by planning and scheduling activities, ensuring alignment with business commitments through effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage WIP flow and cycle time targets for silicon photonics wafer processing, ensuring optimal throughput and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate with planning and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery and optimal tool utilization for photonics lines; monitor and adjust schedules based on real-time fab conditions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for real-time KPI monitoring and predictive analytics for capacity planning and photonics manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with photonics process engineers, equipment teams, and planning groups to drive data-driven decisions and support continuous improvement initiatives using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelor’s and or Master’s in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or related field.
  • Experience - Minimum 2+ Years in Engineering Field.
  • Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SQL, Python, data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and data analysis techniques.
  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate computer and system interface programs for accurate production data analysis.
  • Expertise in following complex procedures with high attention to detail and timeliness
  • Strong team collaboration skills with the capability to manage multiple priorities in a global environment.
  • Deep understanding of silicon photonics process flows, wafer-level testing, and cycle time optimization.
  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range

$69,000.00 - $145,800.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
