Process Technology, Senior Engineer

Job Description:

  • Develop and improve manufacturing process technologies through experimental design, data analysis, and plant-scale trials
  • Lead scale-up and manufacturing support for new products and transferred products, in collaboration with R&D and Alignment Chemists
  • Optimize existing manufacturing processes by identifying improvement opportunities, designing experiments, and implementing changes to improve safety, yield, quality, and productivity; lead process development, commissioning, and start-up activities for capital projects
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise to resolve plant process and quality issues, and participate actively in technical support forums and teams; coach and mentor peers and associate investigators on technical troubleshooting and process engineering best practices
  • Organize and facilitate meetings to drive manufacturing improvements aligned with safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Support and/or lead key Process Safety Management (PSM) elements, including Management of Change (MOC), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and development of process control plans
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key manufacturing metrics to drive data-based decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Requires Master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related field and two years of experience in job offered or as Alignment Engineer and/or Process Technology Engineer and/or Senior Process Technology Engineer. Background in education, training or experience must include working in a lab environment and in the chemical or coatings industry.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical and process engineering principles, including unit operations, scale-up methodologies, and process troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in designing and conducting plant-scale experiments and analyzing process data
  • Working knowledge of batch and continuous manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with process hazard analysis techniques and safety standards (e.g., PSM, MOC, PFMEA)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, EHS) to commercialize and improve products
  • Effective technical communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and process control systems (e.g., DCS, PLC, statistical software)
