Summary:

We are seeking a creative and experienced engineer to join our growing consumables NPI team responsible for process integration of consumable manufacturing. As a successful candidate you will provide end to end workflow support for process development of sequencing consumables. Activities will include data ingestion, analysis and visualization as well as designing, executing, and analyzing experiments.  This position operates at the intersection of consumables design, development, manufacturing, and platform system maturation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work at the intersection of consumable design, process, and product lifecycle to identify the main drivers of process capability, module interactions and sources of variability
  • Contribute to the characterization of novel sequencing consumables with an emphasis on end to end integration of manufacturing workflows
  • Assess requirements for data ingestion and ad hoc development of data visualization tools, such as yield and SPC charts. Perform data analyses on large manufacturing datasets to assess correlation, sensitivity, robustness and capability
  • Analyze inline QC, process, and material data and evaluate interactions between modules, effectiveness of test methods and specifications, and sensitivities in manufacturing environment to consistently deliver to product requirements and meet customer expectations
  • Effectively work within multidisciplinary teams including surface chemistry, mechanical design, optics, reagents, and fluidics
  • Plan, execute and analyze various complex experiments to optimize design/process parameters and determine root cause of failure modes
  • Independently drive characterization activities with the ability to strategically influence cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Educational Background:

BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field

Preferred Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of process engineering experience, including statistical process control, yield, pareto charts, and capability analysis
  • General understanding of SBS sequencing and its primary and secondary metrics
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, R, SQL, etc)
  • Experience with design/process characterization methods (DOE) and analysis (JMP, Matlab, other), analytical test method characterization and validation, statistical process control (Six Sigma)
  • Experience with risk management methods (FMEA) and problem resolution methods (8D, Fish-Bone, etc)
  • Experience with product development processes and systems engineering/integration is highly desired
  • Work experience in the semiconductor, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries is highly desired

The estimated base salary range for the Senior Engineer, Process Integration role based in the United States of America is: $96,500 - $144,700. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
