Job Profile Summary 

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Mobile Automation Testing with strong hands‑on experience in building and maintaining high‑quality mobile automation solutions across iOS and Android platforms. This role will contribute to delivering reliable, scalable, customer‑facing mobile applications by embedding automation and quality practices throughout the SDLC.

The Senior Engineer will work closely with Product Owners, Mobile Engineers, Lead Engineers, and ESQA partners to ensure quality is built in early and consistently across releases.
 

Key Skills:  

  • Mobile automation frameworks: Appium, Selenium.
  • Good to have Espresso, Maestro, Hybrid IO, Playwright
  • Programming languages: Java, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript.
  • REST API testing and backend integration validation.
  • CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Git, pipelines).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and automation-first delivery models.
  • Use AI tools like GitHub Copilot, and test generators to accelerate script creation, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Cloud Device farms and infrastructure: Browser Stack or AWS.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in mobile automation testing. ‑on experience in mobile automation testing.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. ‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from Lead Engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-based device farms.‑based device farms
  • Exposure to performance, security, or accessibility testing for mobile apps.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated domains is a plus.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain mobile automation test scripts and frameworks for iOS and Android applications.
  • Execute automated functional, regression, smoke, and integration tests.
  • Contribute to improving automation coverage, stability, and execution efficiency.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work with developers to resolve defects.
  • Partner with mobile developers (iOS/Android) to improve testability and reduce defect leakage.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure test scenarios align with acceptance criteria and business requirements.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
  • Maintain test data, environments, and execution pipelines to ensure reliable runs.
  • Follow Guardian’s automation standards, coding guidelines, and quality gates.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation frameworks, tools, and processes.
  • Contribute ideas to improve test efficiency, reliability, and release confidence.
  • Support knowledge sharing and best practice adoption within the QA team.‑practice adoption within the QA team.
  • Work Shift – will need to work in overlapping time zone with US at different intervals
