Job Description:

Microchip Technology is looking for a qualified Senior I Process Engineer working the day shift who will sustain and improve Fab-4 Thin Films/Chemical Mechanical Polishing processes.

  • Perform tests to improve yield and reliability, qualify new processes/equipment, improve cycle time, and reduce cost

  • Analyze, summarize and communicate test results

  • Support critical quality systems: PFMEA, SPC, MPSP, MSA, and Sustaining Change Control

  • Troubleshoot equipment and process problems

  • Rework and disposition non-conforming product lots

  • Write process specifications and reports

  • Support Production as required

  • Knowledge of basic statistics is preferred

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree - Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related discipline

  • 5-6 years of experience in Semiconductor CVD/PVD/CMP process engineering

  • Proficiency in written and oral communication

  • Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills

  • Initiative to work independently and keep projects on schedule

  • Proven reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in chemistry

  • Semiconductor technology and/or manufacturing experience

Special Requirements

  • Must work on site 5 days a week during standard first shift hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM or similar).

  • Flexible work schedule for occasional training and project support

This is classified as a safety senstive role.
