The Role:
Entegris is seeking a highly motivated, Proactive, talented, and experienced Equipment Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. You will be a key player on a dynamic, skilled project and operation team whose objective is to manage product/technology transfer project to Taiwan, focusing on equipment installation and maintenance within the semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical engineering background and have hands-on experience with chemical purification/sublimation equipment.
In this role you will:
Drive a “Safety First” culture by performing equipment, process, and behavioral audits and recommending/implementing solutions to risk.
Equipment Installation: Plan, coordinate, and execute the installation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to production and engineering teams, addressing equipment-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
Process Optimization: Collaborate with process engineers to optimize equipment performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing upgrades.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of equipment installations, maintenance activities, and repairs, ensuring accuracy and completeness for future reference.
Compliance: Ensure all equipment and maintenance activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
Training: Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
Vendor Management: Work with equipment vendors and suppliers to source parts, manage warranties, and coordinate service contracts.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices for equipment management.
Track and report Key updates and risks to the stakeholders.
Communicate effectively across the organization (e.g. marketing, facilities, operations, etc.) to drive a result. Contribute to the direction of the department in partnership with other members of the team and leadership.
Submit capital investment requests with supporting business case justifications and drive the execution of capital projects for small projects and serve as manufacturing expert on capital projects development and support project team throughout the project life cycle (initiation to startup)
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Strong English communication skill is must.
5+ years of experience in equipment installation and maintenance with chemical purification equipment and process. Examples include:
Distillation systems
Process gas/solvent lines and monitoring systems
Solids Purification
Sublimation systems
Proven working experience as a mechanical engineer.
Proven experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and sound understanding of Control Logic Diagrams, Instrumentation Selection, Valve and Line Sizing, and ERPs.
Understanding of Materials of Construction.
Experience with FMEA or other risk-based methods.
Experience with SAP maintenance module.
Decision making ability and leadership skills.
Time management and organization skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
Ability to present technical data to all levels of the organization.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and wear PPE as necessary.
Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally to support various engineering projects/escalations (<20%).
