Senior Engineer - Electrical System Integration and Test

We are building our Production Engineering Test Team to develop and execute tests for the quantum computer and its subsystems. As a Senior Electrical Systems Integration and Test Engineer, you will be directly responsible for helping define and execute testing to support all levels and phases of hardware testing at IonQ. You will work with partner teams to understand the pain points and problems to be solved and be able implement scalable solutions. You have experience developing requirements-based test architectures for complex hardware systems, including design for test and manufacturing. You can travel and see the world if needed for customer deployments.  


Responsibilities: 

  • Own the development, documentation, and execution of electrical subsystem and system testing
  • Own the hardware and software integration of the production quantum computers
  • Assist in the design of test infrastructure to support all aspects of testing
  • Drive technical issues to resolution via standard processes like Root Cause Corrective Action, Lessons Learned, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Non-Conformance, etc.
  • Perform and assist with hands-on assembly, test or system integration activities as needed
  • Contribute to Design for Manufacturing and Test reviews


You’d be a Good Fit with: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 6+ years working with complex hardware/software systems
  • Experience with electrical system design and validation
  • Experience conducting integration testing on complex systems
  • Proficiency scripting with Python
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience developing requirements-based test solutions


You’d be a Great Fit with: 

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as a technical lead for your discipline
  • 5+ years of experience developing requirements-based test solutions for complex systems
  • Experience creating automated data analysis tools, scripts, etc.
  • Experience writing software to automate testing
  • Demonstrated experience leading a design for test campaign through the entire product life cycle
  • Experience building scalable test solutions for hardware

This role will work onsite at our office located in Bothell, WA.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $111,407 - $145,861. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.

Compensation will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, Toronto, Canada, and Basel, Switzerland.
