Are you ready to lead the next generation of subsea electronic innovations?
Are you able to guide multidisciplinary teams through complex product development challenges?
Partner with the best
Electronic engineering at Baker Hughes plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of subsea technologies. Our New Product Integration team drives innovation from concept through production, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of reliability, manufacturability, and performance.
Fuel your passion
As a Senior Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the full lifecycle of electronic product development from initial feasibility and concept creation through detailed design, verification, industrialization, and long-term support. You will own core design activities including PCB architecture, power‑electronics performance, simulation, compliance evaluation, and in‑house prototyping.
As a Senior Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Leading requirements capture by interpreting product‑level and compliance needs, translating them into detailed PCB‑level technical specifications in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
Performing advanced simulations and analyses using SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools, evaluating switching behavior, thermal performance, and EMI characteristics.
Designing schematics and PCB layouts using Altium (or equivalent), ensuring compliance with creepage/clearance rules, thermal management constraints, and high‑speed switching requirements.
Building and testing prototypes in‑house, validating performance through oscilloscope measurements, power analysis, thermal imaging, and iterative debugging.
Ensuring compliance with industry standards, documenting design choices, test results, and engineering changes while producing complete technical documentation packages.
Collaborating across mechanical, firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams, supporting DFM/DFT considerations and ensuring smooth transition of designs through NPI gates into stable production.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have demonstrable end‑to‑end product development experience, ideally within highly regulated sectors such as aerospace, defence, consumer, or medical.
Have proven hands‑on expertise in electronic hardware design, including power‑supply design, PCB development, and prototype evaluation.
Have strong proficiency with simulation tools, PCB design software, and lab instrumentation, with excellent debugging and fault‑finding skills.
Have deep understanding of thermal management, EMI mitigation, safety standards, and the ability to independently take designs from concept to validated prototype.
Have strong knowledge of DFM, DFT, and production processes, with the ability to partner effectively with manufacturing and cross‑functional engineering teams.
Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronic design and at least 10 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer.
