Java Senior Engineer

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Bank’s technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.

We are looking for another Java Engineer colleague in the Surveillance Area to help us build the subsequent iterations of dbSIS (Surveillance Insulation Services) in an Event Driven style with Kafka as the Backbone but also keep alive the current version which has been in production for the last 6 years and assist in its migration to the new version.

Responsibilities:

• Design/Build/Enhance software components (legacy and the new version)
• Documentation
• Build tests (junit or automation tests)
• Deploy applications through the environments all the way into Production
• Be on call for Production Support
• Troubleshooting

Skills

• Good experience with Java (we estimate you would benefit from at least 5 years), Kafka,MQ,Apache Camel,OpenShift/Kubernetes,REST,UnitTesting
• Ability to design and build components
• Ability to test your application through and out
• Knowledge of working with OpenShift/Kubernetes or other containerization products
• Willingness to share your experience and explain your technical decisions to less experience engineers or non-technical colleagues
• Keep Production on your mind when you build the software
• Willingness to learn what you don’t know from your colleagues or on your own
• Working knowledge with relational databases
