Omada Health is on a mission to inspire and engage people in lifelong health, one step at a time.

Job overview: We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join us as Senior Employment Counsel. You will serve as a key member of our growing Legal team: providing strategic and practical legal advice on a wide range of employment matters; designing and implementing scalable policies and processes that enable the company to grow compliantly and efficiently; and partnering with cross-functional leaders to help manage the company’s benefit plans. You’ll develop policies, guide compliance initiatives, and advise on sensitive employee relations issues while helping shape a thoughtful, equitable workplace culture.

Your Impact:

  • Advise on all aspects of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, accommodations, leaves of absence, and compensation practices.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with employment laws and regulations; provide timely updates and recommendations on legislative and regulatory changes affecting the workplace.
  • Manage and advise on employee relations matters, internal investigations, and disciplinary actions in partnership with the People team.
  • Draft, review, and maintain employment documents and templates – for example, offer letters and employment agreements, employee handbooks, codes of conduct, and separation agreements.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop, implement, and update employee policies and training.
  • Advise on performance management, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions, including reductions in force.
  • Oversee, manage, and develop strategies for employment-related litigation and disputes; partner with and own outside counsel relationships for these matters.
  • Partner with regulatory counsel and HR on ERISA compliance and management of the company’s benefits plans.

About you:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 7-9 years of experience practicing employment law, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with federal employment law (including FLSA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, Title VII, etc.) and state employment law (California preferred).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills; able to demonstrate good, practical judgment and client counseling skills.
  • Ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, succinct, and pragmatic advice for cross-functional partners; adept at counseling non-lawyers on sensitive issues, demonstrating both sound judgment and empathy for the business context.
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment; able to handle confidential employee matters with discretion and integrity.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience supporting high-growth or emerging growth companies.
  • Familiarity with AI laws related to employment
  • Specific expertise in California and/or New York employment law

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with generous annual cash bonus
  • Equity Grants
  • Remote first work from home culture
  • Flexible vacation to help you rest, recharge, and connect with loved ones
  • Generous parental leave
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (and above market employer contributions)
  • 401k retirement savings plan
  • Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA)
  • Mental Health Support Solutions
  • ...and more!
