Job Description
We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer. The selected candidates will join a dynamic team working to put Great Systems on Orbit with capabilities to perform leading-edge tasks in laser communications, space electronics and sensors.
On any given day, the successful candidates may be asked to perform the following duties:
Design high speed digital electronics including the use of ADCs, DACs, FPGAs, processors, and communications drivers.
Design and conduct analysis of analog circuits including low-noise signal conditioning and power amplifiers.
Provide expertise for both product development and R&D efforts.
Collaborate with peers, leads, and managers to develop, review, and refine designs and analyses to meet program technical needs within defined time and budget constraints.
Work within a broad-disciplined program team providing expertise in support of electronics manufacturing and test.
Required Qualifications:
BS degree in electrical engineering
8 years' experience in design, analysis, integration, and test of custom electronics.
Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools (such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, HyperLynx, and MS Office).
Ability to conduct circuit analysis and simulation to optimize performance and reliability.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
10, or more, years’ engineering experience.
Understanding of space qualification standards and requirements.
Experience designing custom electronics for space products.
Experience designing to a defined requirements set.
Experience with analysis necessary for high-reliability space electronics hardware (Electrical stress analysis, worst case circuit analysis, and reliability analysis)
Experience and understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
Experience producing board layouts is a plus
Understanding of relevant IPC standards needed for electrical design and fabrication.
Experience leading sub-assemblies or circuit card designs with small teams of two or three.
Experience developing and conducting testing of complex electronic sub-assemblies along with design of special test equipment (STE).
Experience deriving sub-assembly requirements from higher-level, flowed down, system requirements and defining test methodologies.
Experience developing design & verification documentation (Interface Control Document/Drawings (ICD), Design Description Document (DDD), Test Plan, Test Procedures, Test Reports, etc.).
Written and verbal communication skills necessary to present designs to internal and external stakeholders.
Able to complete assigned work within a defined timeline and budget.
Current and active US security clearance.
