SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Senior Electrical Engineer for the Hand Towels business unit will provide leadership, technical expertise, and creativity in the design, development, optimization, troubleshooting, and operation of TM4 and supporting processes. This role blends capital project leadership with operations‑embedded reliability engineering, ensuring both long‑term asset health and day‑to‑day performance

In this role, you will:

  • Follows the Safety Roles and Responsibilities Matrix for Loss Prevention and Control by holding themselves and all team members accountable to its tenets.

  • Design and Development: Provides guidance in the initiation, design, optimization and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives. Specifically to include projects that achieves significant cost savings improvements (YOY).

  • Technical Knowledge: Develops knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis.  Provides advice and counsel sought by others.

  • Security and Documentation: Provides leadership in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.

  • Problem Solving: Seeks, recognizes, defines and solves problems/opportunities using LEAN methodologies to achieve unit objectives.

  • Capital Project Leadership: Lead medium‑to‑large capital projects ($1MM to $30MM) from concept through commissioning, including scope definition, equipment selection, installation, checkout, and startup.

  • Internal Control: Leads assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable corporate policies.  Places emphasis on CFI and Internal Controls.

  • Communication:  Communicates to inform, engage and inspire.  Emphasizes communications as a tool to build collaboration and ensure organizational alignment

  • Human Resources Development: Participates in the development of others in the area of incumbent’s expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.

  • Safety: Lead by example in safety, ensuring all designs and processes meet corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Quality: Analyzes and improves process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability.  Identifies, develops and provides leadership to implement products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives.

  • Diversity: Contributes to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.

Scope:

  • Receives direction in the form of broadly defined objectives. Assignments may vary from individual contribution to team leadership. 

  • Communicates directly with the project sponsors in defining project scope. 

  • Responsibilities include project results, project control and effective use of resources.

  • Day to day responsibilities include electrical leadership for manufacturing asset management teams. 

  • Incumbent is a recognized technical leader, possesses high standards of professional performance, displays vision and demonstrates both personal and organizational sensitivity.

Working Conditions:

  • Full time roll at Loudon Mill.

  • Flexibility to travel up to 15% for benchmarking and best practice sharing across KCNA

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Potential of shift coverage to support assets, projects or initiatives

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 7 plus years industrial experience in high-speed manufacturing environments

Strong experience with

  • ControlLogix

  • Drives

  • HMI Interfacing

  • I/O

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley Controls

  • Drives and Motors Experience

  • AC/DC Instrumentation Experience

  • Flow

  • Pressure

  • Temperature

  • Consistency

  • Control Valves

  • Power distribution systems (up to 480V)

  • NEC and NFPA requirements

  • Manufacturing background

  • Project management experience

  • Directing work

  • Managing contractors

Preferred Experience

  • Tissue making production equipment, materials, and processes

  • Experion

  • Demonstrated ability of writing and presenting updates to leadership.

  • Motion Control and Servo Systems

  • Control Net Communications

  • Safety Systems

  • Knowledgeable in power distribution systems (up to 15KV)

  • SAP experience

Salary Range: 105,740 – 130,620 USD

 

At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
