Role description:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for complex electrical designs across the APAC region. You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls/SCADA) and play a key technical role on mining, power generation and hybrid/renewable projects. The role is hands-on, with strong focus on studies, design quality, and mentoring junior engineers, contributing directly to the energy transition in the region.
Responsibilities
Take technical ownership of electrical scope from concept through to commissioning, supporting factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
Deliver detailed electrical designs for mining and power generation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Develop HV substation designs, earthing designs and studies and prepare single line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, specifications and cost estimates
Work closely with controls and SCADA engineers to ensure holistic, integrated power generation solutions.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, suppliers and contractors to ensure successful delivery.
Use simulation tools such as PowerFactory and CDEGS (or equivalent) to model electrical systems and assess performance.
Perform power system studies utilising PowerFactory and CDEGS (or equivalent) to validate design assumptions, identify risks and optimise system performance
Produce clear, concise technical reports and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
Ideally a minimum of 7 years in electrical design for mining and power generation, with a strong understanding of Australian standards.
Proficiency in HV substation design, earthing studies, and simulation tools like PowerFactory and CDEGS.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage team dynamics and stakeholder expectations.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients and stakeholders.
