About you and this role  

Dow has an exciting opportunity as a Senior EH&S Technician/ Medical Technician. This role is located in Midland (MI)

In this role you will share responsibility to provide hands-on medical services and safety (H&S) activities for the Occupational health clinic. You will require full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. You will act as an informal resource for team members with less experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Implements detailed, task-level, day-to-day medical procedures, utilizing established clinical workflows, standards, and protocols. 
  • Ensures that all aspects of patient care, laboratory safety, and infection control are adequately followed and applied to achieve health and safety performance goals. In most cases, serves as the section owner for laboratory safety and patient care protocols. 
  • Acts as the clinic or laboratory resource for information on medical procedures, guidelines, and standards. 
  • Serves as the primary contact for medical, laboratory, and health and safety issues. 
  • Coaches teams and individuals on medical and laboratory-related tasks and activities. 
  • Assists in developing and achieving department or facility health and safety goals. 
  • Ensures that compliance tasks, such as documentation and regulatory requirements, are completed accurately and timely. 
  • Performs and coordinates medical and laboratory monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting for the clinic or laboratory. 

Required Qualification 

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent 
  • 2+ years experience in a medical office or similar experience 
  • Medical assistant certification or Certified nursing assistant 
  • CPR certified 
  • Certification with Basic Life Support (BLS) 
  • A minimum requirement of this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Willing to be/or are certified in NIOSH, CAOCH hearing class 
  • Prior experience in Occupational Health setting

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, ensuring accuracy and completeness in one’s work. 
  • Prioritization – Ability to arrange items or activities in order of importance relative to each other. 
  • Health and Safety Training - Safety training is a phrase used to describe the training materials designed to teach occupational safety and health standards. 
  • Microsoft Office - Microsoft Office, or simply Office, is a family of client software, server software, and services developed by Microsoft. 
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Time management: Ability to plan and exercise conscious control of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. It involves a juggling act of various demands upon a person relating to work, social life, family, hobbies, personal interests, and commitments with the finiteness of time. 
  • Occupational Safety and Health - Occupational safety and health (OSH), also commonly referred to as occupational health and safety (OHS), occupational health, or occupational safety, is a multidisciplinary field concerned with the safety, health, and welfare of people at occupation.
