About the role:

• Is responsible for application of all health and safety, fire protection, environment and energy standards in the plant.
• Verify the compliancy of machines, installation and people behaviour.
• Report all legal documents and indicator in term of health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• Actively participate in the improvement of the health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• Is responsible for the compliance of the plant with legislation and Convatec global policies in area of health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• Help to establish and maintain safety culture and awareness in the plant.

Your key duties and responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain and supervise the compliance of policies, laws and rules for health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• Monitor the legislative changes and their applications.
• For new installation: verify the compliancy of the machine in term of health and safety, fire protection and environment, approve the installation, verify the safe usage of the machine and define personal protective equipment to wear for the machine usage.
• Ensure the permission for the operation in according with law for health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• For the employees: participate to the training of health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• For subcontractors: verify their approval for the Convatec rules and perform training if is required.
• Support for all department to achieve KPIs.
• Uphold and protect company reputation in all EHS matters.
• Actively support site new projects and other critical manufacturing network activities.
• Provide site EHS management support for Lean Projects.
• Creation and updating of chemicals register used in company premises.
• Analyse risk of new chemicals for usage in the plant, define rules for safe usage of all chemicals.
• Implement and perform health and safety, fire protection and environment audit, verify of all installation and people knowledge / behaviour.
• Participate and give directions for all topics related to the health and safety, fire protection and environment.
• With the support of all departments define the improvement actions and follow their implementation.
• To ensure compliance with the legislative and internal requirements of the EHS and to participate in the fulfilment of the company's targets in the EHS area.

Skills & Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience at similar job position.
• Strong understanding of Slovak EHS legislation and standards.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in EHS management systems.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving EHS issues.
• Capability to deliver effective and engaging EHS training programs.
• Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
• Advanced English language proficiency – must have.
• Computer skills: MS Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Qualifications/Education:

• Master’s degree in technical area with focus on Health and Safety or Environment, engineering or scientific discipline is preferable.
• Certificate of H&S technician and fire protection technician.
• Education and/or background with database.
• Education and/or background with Project Management tools.
• ISO 45 001 and ISO 14 001 Internal auditor certification.
• ISO 50 001 Internal auditor is desired.

Travel Requirements:

• The position may involve occasional travel, around 5-10% of the time.

Working Conditions:

• Office based position with home office possibilities based on the local home office policy.
• Flexible working hours.
