About the Role:

The Senior Director, US Brand Strategy & Launch will lead the end-to-end U.S. commercialization strategy for Neurocrine’s upcoming launch in Schizophrenia, with accountability for Healthcare Professional (HCP), some patient marketing strategy, launch execution, and long-term brand performance.
This role is central to a high-profile, differentiated CNS product launch and requires deep industry marketing expertise along with substantial experience leading complex launches. The Senior Director will shape how the brand is positioned clinically and commercially, ensuring resonance with psychiatrists, community mental health providers, patients, and caregivers.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Owns the U.S. brand strategy for launch defining positioning, segmentation, messaging and metrics to drive differentiated commercial performance

  • Leads development and execution of a comprehensive, cross-functional brand planning process, aligning marketing, medical affairs, market access, sales, regulatory, and analytics to ensure a coordinated and successful launch

  • Applies deep understanding of the neuropsychiatric treatment landscape, including disease burden, patient heterogeneity, stigma, and care delivery dynamics, to shape innovative HCP and patient engagement strategies

  • Anticipates and responds to market trends, competitive dynamics, and evolving treatment paradigms, proactively adjusting strategy to maximize brand potential and long-term growth

  • Drives the design and execution of innovative pre-launch and launch programs, including personal, non-personal, and peer-to-peer education, tailored to psychiatrists, community providers, patients, and care partners

  • Partners with commercial analytics to translate market insights, patient flows, and prescriber behavior into actionable strategies that inform pre-launch planning and optimize launch performance

  • Serves as the commercial lead for the brand, influencing senior leadership decisions on strategy, investment, and prioritization while aligning stakeholders on key trade-offs and resource allocation

  • Represents the brand in governance forums, including promotional review, ensuring strategic consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate standards

  • Builds and maintains relationships with key external stakeholders, including thought leaders, advocacy organizations and local/national organizations as needed to grow industry awareness

  • Owns the brand operating budget and investment strategy, optimizing resource allocation and managing external agencies to ensure executional excellence and return on investment

  • Leads and develops a high-performing team, fostering accountability, innovation, and collaboration, while building capabilities required for successful CNS launch and sustained growth

  • Operates effectively in a highly matrixed environment, leading through influence across functions to drive alignment, execution, and delivery of business objectives

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in scientific or business discipline with 15+ years of relevant experience, including 7+ years of strong marketing and/or sales experience in a pharmaceutical market. Experience managing outside agencies (creative & media), design firms, and internal teams to execute brand and strategic marketing direction. In-line brand marketing experience, including commercial launch OR

  • Master’s/MBA with 13+ years, OR

  • PhD with 10+ years and strong commercial leadership experience

  • Proven track record of leading U.S. brand strategy and launch execution, ideally in neuroscience, psychiatry, or specialty therapeutics

  • Deep understanding of HCP and patient dynamics in mental health, including treatment complexity, access challenges, and patient engagement considerations preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to translate market insights into actionable brand strategies that drive adoption and growth

  • Experience influencing senior leadership and leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization

  • Strong leadership capability, including experience building and developing high-performing teams

  • Experience managing external agencies and omnichannel marketing strategies

  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to travel domestically (25–50%)

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $233,400.00-$318,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
