Job Description
The Senior Director – Strategic Transformation & Finance Analytics is responsible for leading high impact, data driven transformation initiatives across Ameriprise Wealth Management (AWM). This role partners closely with business leaders, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams to improve key client & advisor metrics and operational effectiveness through structured transformation methodologies and actionable insights.Key Responsibilities
AWM Business Transformation Leadership (≈50%)
Lead end‑to‑end AWM transformation initiatives focused on client growth, advisor recruiting, retention, and operational efficiencies, aligned to enterprise priorities.
Partner with senior business leaders to identify POD gaps, design improvement strategies, and drive execution using data‑driven insights.
Influence key business decisions by translating complex analyses into clear, compelling recommendations that drive action.
Act as a catalyst for business change by embedding measurement, monitoring, and accountability frameworks into transformation efforts.
Support enterprise growth by identifying opportunities to improve advisor efficiency, client experience, and operational scalability.
Data, Analytics, and Insight Enablement (≈30%)
Partner with Finance, Ameriprise Information Management (AIM), and Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDAI) teams to ensure consistent, reliable, and actionable insights are used to support AWM transformation initiatives.
Translate analytics outputs into business‑relevant narratives that inform strategy, prioritize initiatives, and support trade‑off decisions.
Support the data‑to‑decision lifecycle, ensuring insights move from analysis to execution and business impact.
Promote best practices in analytics usage, governance, and decision support that align with broader Finance Data initiatives.
Cross‑Functional Partnership & Change Enablement (≈10%)
Serve as a trusted transformation partner across Finance, Operations, Technology, and business teams.
Influence adoption of process improvement methodologies and structured problem‑solving approaches.
Support leaders in selecting high‑value initiatives that deliver measurable business results.
Drive alignment across multiple teams to ensure initiatives are coordinated, scalable, and sustainable.
People Leadership & Capability Building (≈10%)
Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a team of transformation professionals and analysts.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and analytical rigor.
Build transformation and analytics capabilities to support current and future AWM priorities.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in business transformation, operations strategy, analytics, or related fields.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving capabilities.
Demonstrated experience translating data and analysis into actionable business insights.
In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $140,200 - $192,800 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
