The Senior Director of Solution Development, North America is a pivotal enterprise leader responsible for shaping, advancing, and executing the strategic direction of Dematic’s solution architecture across the region. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, engineering excellence, and commercial impact—driving differentiated customer value while enabling Dematic to achieve ambitious Order Intake (OI) and profitability targets.

As a senior executive and trusted advisor to the AMCS Leadership Team, internal business partners, and key customer stakeholders, this leader brings deep strategic insight, strong consultative influence, and executive‑level communication to every engagement. The Sr. Director plays a critical role in elevating the team, driving consistency, and market effectiveness of the Solution Development function—positioning Dematic to win more complex, higher‑value opportunities in a rapidly evolving automation landscape.

This role leads a highly multidisciplinary organization spanning Solution Consulting, Mechanical and Controls Engineering, Operations Planning, Solution Concepting, and Proposal Development. Together, the team delivers scalable, high‑quality, and executable solutions that strengthen customer trust, improve win rates, and enable long‑term profitable growth.

The pay range for this role is estimated to be $175,000.00 - $250,000.00 at the time of posting and will be eligible for incentive compensation in accordance with company practices. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Enterprise Solution Strategy & Thought Leadership

  • Lead Dematic’s Business Solutions – Solution Development strategy for North America, enabling delivery of significant order intake through winning solution concepts and proposals.
  • Serve as the primary enterprise thought leader for solution architecture, system design, and quoting innovation—driving improvements in competitiveness, margin quality, and proposal effectiveness.
  • Influence how Dematic designs, positions, and differentiates its solutions portfolio in the market.

Commercial Impact & Customer Value

  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to create winning deal strategies, solution concepts, and customer narratives that deliver year‑over‑year profitable growth.
  • Act as a senior executive presence in critical customer engagements, helping shape solution direction, build confidence, and secure repeat business.
  • Foster a strong culture of partnership with Sales and customers, focused on long‑term value creation and trusted‑advisor relationships.

Operational Readiness & Execution Enablement

  • Define and lead Operational Readiness strategies for all Dematic Enterprise Solution customers, ensuring solutions transition effectively from sale to execution.
  • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction, execution confidence, and repeat business through strong front‑end solution rigor.
  • Enable proposal quality, speed, and scalability through advanced tools, digital technologies, and standardized processes.

Leadership, Talent & Organizational Excellence

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing team of solution consultants, engineers, planners, concept developers, and proposal professionals.
  • Develop and execute talent, capability, and succession plans that ensure the organization is ready for future market demands.
  • Own and manage budgets, capacity planning, and organizational design to balance growth, quality, and efficiency.
  • Build a coaching‑oriented leadership culture that attracts, develops, and retains top technical and consulting talent.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; graduate degree strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in solution development, engineering, or complex automation systems, with deep exposure to distribution or fulfillment environments.
  • 8+ years of senior leadership experience leading multidisciplinary technical and consulting teams.
  • Proven track record of driving commercial success through winning solution strategies, executive customer engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • 40% travel required
