What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Director, Program Management you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of complex projects and programs across Risk Management. This role is accountable primarily for delivering the project and program portfolio for Enterprise Risk Management while other initiatives may be added as required to meet business objectives, ensuring alignment with CIBC’s business strategy and regulatory requirements. This role is a key advisor to Risk Management leaders, providing strategic guidance, robust governance, and operational excellence to enable the successful delivery of initiatives aligned to a multi-year strategic roadmap. This role champions a high-performance culture, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and ensures that all project and program activities support CIBC’s business priorities and regulatory requirements.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you’ll succeed

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership for the assigned Risk project portfolio. Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on project prioritization, project risk management, and resource allocation. Provide support to planning and prioritization of initiatives to support overall business strategy.

  • Lead the day-to-day project/program delivery activities: Provide leadership and guidance to project team throughout all phases of program and project management—including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure—to ensure successful delivery of expected outcomes. Support complex initiatives, leading planning, development, integration and deployment of cross-functional enterprise solutions.

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the assigned project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy, prioritization of initiatives, and optimal resource utilization. Monitor project performance (financial and non- financial), resolve escalated issues, and ensure adherence to delivery governance framework.

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate decision making and ensure successful implementation of project/programs. Identify and engage all key stakeholders, business and technical, that must participate in a project. Communicate program/project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to project management methodologies, tools, and processes. Champion the adoption of best practices and drive operational excellence.
