To accelerate that journey, we are seeking a highly experienced professional to be our Senior Director of Product Marketing. This role reports to the VP, Head of Marketing and will be part of our Marketing Leadership team. As leader of the Product Marketing function, this role is accountable for the strategy, functional roadmap, execution, talent, and results of the Product Marketing team.

This hands-on role will address two primary needs. First: lead the Product Marketing team to meet objectives through strong collaboration across CoverMyMeds teams along with its senior leaders, Customers, and other McKesson businesses. Second: establish the next generation of product marketing to accelerate our business strategies by implementing capabilities, creating effective working models, and developing the team.

The winning candidate has demonstrated experience building product marketing capabilities. Strong and proven leadership presence is critical with an ability to quickly establish credibility across executives, senior leaders, and peer groups. They must have a well-informed, practical, and future-facing perspective on product marketing within a product-driven organization – ideally with healthcare, technology, or B2B experience.

Key Responsibilities

Product Marketing Strategy & Impact

Lead the Product Marketing function to drive measurable business results across CoverMyMeds product suites and audiences. Set the pace, direction, goals, and accountability for the team, ensuring Product Marketing operates as a growth driver aligned to company priorities. Serve as the face of Product Marketing, orchestrating strong cross‑functional inclusion and execution within and beyond Marketing.

GotoMarket & Commercial Enablement

Partner closely with Product and Commercial teams to translate product roadmaps and strategies into revenue‑generating, customer‑centric go‑to‑market solutions. Act as connective tissue between strategy and execution by driving clear value propositions, accurate buyer‑center messaging, compelling claims, and effective plans. Ensure the inclusion of market and customer insights to inform positioning, launches, and lifecycle decisions.

CrossFunctional Leadership & Collaboration

Collaborate across CoverMyMeds teams and senior leaders to align priorities and execute effectively in a matrixed environment. Drive shared understanding and accountability across functions to ensure successful delivery of outcomes. Strengthen partnerships across McKesson to create new collaborative value.

Modernize Product Marketing Capabilities

Establish the next generation of Product Marketing by aligning Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams on modern product marketing practices, methodologies, value, and deliverables. Create and execute a capabilities roadmap that drives transparency, accountability, and consistent execution across the function. Introduce strong support across the product lifecycle, including

  • Upstream methodologies to support product ideation and development
  • Positioning and go-to-market planning to strengthen sales and marketing enablement
  • Testing & pre-launch efforts to ensure in-market success
  • Launch, post-launch, and lifecycle deliverables

Scale the Function for Growth

Build Product Marketing for scale through strong positioning frameworks, go‑to‑market documentation, launch playbooks, tools, and technology. Deploy AI as a tool within the Product Marketing team and coordinate across teams as AI is scaled across the business.

Leadership, Talent, & Culture

Serve as a leader on the Marketing Leadership Team, contributing to decisions that set strategy and direction. Set and communicate clear goals to enhance team performance, foster engagement, and build a strong, inclusive culture. Develop and execute talent development plans that strengthens individual capabilities and creates deep product marketing expertise. Ensure the team is equipped with the methodologies, tools, and capabilities required to operate effectively in a product‑driven, healthcare technology environment.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or equivalent discipline
  • Advanced certifications in product marketing are highly desirable

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years in roles focused on product marketing and 6+ years diversified leadership experience.
  • Expertise in product marketing methodologies, frameworks, and value creation.
  • Extensive experience in Healthcare, B2B, Technology, or Biopharma sectors.
  • Extensive experience in a product-driven organization.
  • Experience establishing new functional capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in marketing across the full product lifecycle.

Critical and preferred skills

  • Strong track record of testing and implementing product marketing capabilities.
  • Experience in using primary and secondary research.
  • Strong leadership presence.
  • Experience working with Brand, Demand Generation, Marketing Operations, or Research teams.
  • Balance of strategic vision and tactical execution
  • Extremely analytical and strategic.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in AI and digital literacy.
  • Experience with Health Systems, Providers, specialty or emerging therapeutic areas, Payers, Pharmacies, Biopharma and Pharmaceutical, and Patients.  
  • Competency in navigating and thriving in a matrixed organizational environment.

We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$153,500 - $255,900
