What you’ll do
At Simplii Financial, we're reshaping how millions of Canadians manage their finances, with the Product team playing a pivotal role at the heart of our organization. We turn complexity into clarity – working across design, operations, engineering, analytics, compliance, and risk to build products and features that solve human problems. As a key member of Simplii’s Product Management team, reporting directly to the Vice President, Product Management & Innovation, the Senior Director, Product Management - Wealth will be responsible for leading the evolution and driving the performance of Simplii’s wealth and investing solutions. In this role, you will define the product vision and strategic direction, drive measurable growth, and lead a cross-functional squad to deliver impactful customer outcomes across all investing experiences and wealth management capabilities. This is a senior leadership role that requires an ownership mindset and bias to action. You will set a clear direction and empower your team to build new products and scale existing ones, navigating ambiguity and overcoming barriers with resourcefulness and resolve. Accountability for outcomes is paramount – both for the business and the development of your people.
At Simplii Financial, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement (with time split between in-office and remote work discussed during the interview process).
What You’ll Do
Vision & strategy – Articulate a compelling vision for Simplii’s wealth solutions and crystallize a strategy to achieve it. Translate customer insights, market dynamics, and business priorities into a clear point of view, making deliberate trade‑offs to focus the organization on what matters most and drive meaningful customer and business outcomes.
Product roadmap & MVP to scale – Set and execute product roadmaps that take wealth products from early concepts and MVP through scale into a multi‑million‑dollar business. Own end‑to‑end product development for self‑directed and managed investment solutions, with a relentless focus on usability, reliability, and delight.
Business ownership & P&L accountability – Operate with full ownership mindset, accountable for P&L and portfolio performance. Drive measurable growth while balancing speed, quality, and risk, and establish clear business rhythms to track performance, learn quickly, and course‑correct when needed.
Wealth experience evolution – Advance Simplii’s digital wealth experiences to be simple, confident, and cohesive for customers. Strengthen the end‑to‑end journey across banking and investing touchpoints, improving continuity, clarity, and trust while solving real financial problems for Canadians.
Customer obsession & insights‑led delivery – Anchor decisions in deep customer understanding. Develop and test hypotheses on customer needs and product‑market fit within the Canadian wealth landscape, using qualitative insight, data, and experimentation to guide what you build and why.
Data‑informed decision making – Make fast, confident decisions grounded in analytics and intuition. Leverage experimentation, performance data, and market signals to continuously improve product outcomes, adoption, and customer experience.
Executive leadership & storytelling – Present clear, compelling business cases, performance reviews, and strategic recommendations to Simplii’s executive leadership. Tell a coherent story that connects customer value, product decisions, and business outcomes.
Product leadership across the enterprise – Partner deeply with engineering, design, analytics, risk, compliance, marketing, and operations to align priorities, remove friction, and accelerate delivery. Champion product thinking and influence outcomes across teams, levels, and functions.
Leadership & high‑agency culture – Lead a strong team of cross-functional leaders across engineering, design, product management, design, analytics, marketing, and more. Champion a culture of high agency, ownership, and accountability where teams are trusted to act, experiment, and learn while delivering consistently.
Agile execution & operational discipline – Lead with a bias to action, embracing agile ways of working to deliver complex programs at scale. Reduce duplication and unnecessary process, creating space for teams to focus on building, shipping, and improving great products.
Who You Are
Senior product leader with ownership mindset – You bring 12+ years of experience leading product teams in fintech, software, or financial services, owning complex portfolios and taking accountability for outcomes, not just output.
Builder of products and businesses – You’ve built and shipped products at scale, growing product lines through strong strategy, customer obsession, and execution rather than pricing or marketing alone.
Wealth & regulatory fluency – You have a strong grasp of Canadian regulatory frameworks and experience embedding risk and compliance into product decisions in practical, product‑led ways.
Strategic and pragmatic thinker – You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, synthesizing customer insight, market context, and data into clear direction and thoughtful trade‑offs.
Influential communicator – You communicate clearly and credibly with executives and partners, using strong product and business narratives to align stakeholders and move decisions forward.
People‑first leader – You’ve built and developed high‑performing product teams, creating environments where autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement thrive.
Values‑driven – You bring your real self to work and live Simplii’s values of trust, teamwork, and accountability, modeling the behaviors you expect from others.
