What You’ll’ Be Doing

As an integral member of the Personal Banking Data and Analytics Office, and reporting to the Head of Personal Banking Data and Analytics, the Senior Director, Personal Banking AI, Data & Analytics Strategy is responsible for creating and managing a comprehensive development roadmap for Personal and Business Banking (PBB) at the enterprise level. The Senior Director proactively collaborates with stakeholders across CIBC, including TI&I groups, PBB, and other relevant teams, to identify strategic opportunities, drive initiatives, and share insights that inform new business opportunities. Serving as the primary point of contact across multiple stakeholder teams, the Senior Director ensures strategic alignment and effective execution of initiatives, while facilitating regular business reviews and agile ceremonies to monitor progress and maintain cross-team alignment. This role builds and sustains strong relationships with internal stakeholders and executive leadership to influence strategic priorities, support decision-making, and drive operational efficiency. The role leads stakeholder engagement by assessing needs and priorities, gathering insights, and partnering with colleagues at various organizational levels to advance the digital servicing roadmap. Additionally, the Senior Director will champion the development of innovative approaches, methodologies, and evaluation criteria to achieve broad organizational objectives, foster a high-performance culture focused on leadership and talent development, and ensure clear accountability through indirect management responsibilities.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strategy - Lead and implement large-scale business initiatives in support of Personal Banking Data and Analytics Office and/or in support of the overall PBB. Collaborate closely with key partners to create a forward-looking plan that aligns activities with Enterprise, PBB, and Personal Banking Data & Analytics Office objectives

  • Execution - Oversee progress reviews of the development roadmap with senior leadership. Prepare presentations and materials for senior stakeholders and the Board regarding AI, Data, and Analytics initiatives. Manage Personal Banking Data and Analytics’ involvement in rotational analyst programs, external talent networks. Lead efforts with control partners to manage the pipeline controls/governance/legal/risk processes.

  • Communication - Develop and consult on strategic presentations, internal communications, and business plans ensuring alignment with, and understanding of, the key priorities and messages of the Personal Banking Data and Analytics Office. Creation of executive PowerPoint presentations to support Personal Banking Data and Analytics Office team with delivering key messages and information.

  • Stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration & relationship building – Collaborate proactively with stakeholders throughout CIBC to identify and drive strategic initiatives. Lead stakeholder engagement by assessing their needs and priorities, gathering insights to support the development of new opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact across multiple stakeholder teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution of initiatives. Partner with colleagues at various organizational levels to promote alignment and advance the digital servicing roadmap. Work closely with teams across TI&I groups and PBB (please list any other groups you’d like to see listed) to share insights, uncover new opportunities, and monitor benefits and usage. Build and sustain strong, effective relationships, fostering a high-performance culture focused on leadership, talent development, and clear accountability through indirect management responsibilities.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 6 to 8 years of work experience in management consulting including building buss cases, vendor management, specifically technical/data/analytics/AI.

  • You can demonstrate 6 to 8 years of work experience in planning, managing and delivering large-scale technology projects, such as cloud migration, data product development, and implementation of AI tools.

  • You can demonstrate exceptional presentation and communication skills, in preparing and presenting strategic updates and technical materials for executive leadership and board-level audiences.

  • You can demonstrate 6 to 8 years of work experience in data analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and related platforms to effectively advance business objectives with exceptional problem solving and decision-making to analyze situations, develop and implement solutions.

  • You can demonstrate strong leadership experience with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. A collaborative mindset to build relationships and drive consensus in a dynamic environment.

  • You can demonstrate strong experience to effectively navigate and collaborate within a complex matrix organization, fostering alignment and driving cross-functional initiatives to achieve strategic priorities.

  • You can demonstrate thorough understanding of the financial industry, including financial services practices, principles, and regulatory frameworks. Ability to analyze and interpret complex concepts and apply them in innovative and practical ways across all levels of the organization.
