We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Sr. Director, Fleet Management to join our team in Coppell, TX. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and executing strategies that optimize fleet operations and ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency across all aspects of asset management and maintenance contributing to our ongoing success and strategic goals. As part of the Fleet Department, you will focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while fostering collaboration and accountability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Initiatives
Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies for fleet operations, asset planning, and maintenance programs.
Drive initiatives to maximize asset utilization, improve preventive maintenance compliance, and extend asset lifecycle.
Establish contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions and ensure timely delivery and registration of assets.
Align fleet strategies with organizational goals, financial targets, and sustainability objectives.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Operations, Finance, Health & Safety, and other internal teams to ensure alignment on fleet priorities and budgets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, service providers, and regulatory agencies.
Lead vendor management efforts, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on fleet-related decisions and risk mitigation.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to support operational efficiency and compliance.
Performance Metrics & Accountability
Define and monitor KPIs for asset utilization, preventive maintenance compliance, cost efficiency, and safety performance.
Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and company SOPs.
Oversee development and implementation of playbooks, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
Lead performance management for direct reports, including goal setting, coaching, and career development.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Utilize data analytics and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Leverage technology and digital tools to enhance fleet visibility, compliance tracking, and operational efficiency.
Drive innovation in fuel conservation, environmental compliance, and asset rotation strategies.
Investigate process failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management, or related field.
10+ years of experience in fleet management or related operations.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards.
Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred).
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
Expertise in fleet operations and asset management.
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to execute plans through cross-functional collaboration.
Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and trend analysis.
