Senior Director of Product, Personalization & Intelligence
About the Role
We are seeking a visionary and highly technical Senior Director of Product, Personalization & Intelligence to lead the product strategy for the core intelligence systems and personalization experiences at Realtor.com . This leader will own the product portfolio for the group responsible for personalization, MarTech, and user understanding.
This role will be the product leader for a multi-disciplinary engineering organization, defining and delivering the roadmaps for front-end experiences and complex platforms, and ensuring these systems translate into personalized, monetizable user experiences. This role will also be responsible for the foundational Personalization and MarTech Platforms, leading the strategy and architecture for our consumer data and activation ecosystem.
This individual will manage a team of Product Managers who own the execution and day-to-day responsibilities for Membership (registration, logged in experiences, authentication, identity, preferences), Saved Searches & Saved Properties, Notifications Center, MarTech, and User Intelligence (ML Models, User Insights).
What You'll Own
1. Strategic Product Leadership & Roadmap Ownership
- Define and Deliver the Intelligence Roadmap: Own, define, and deliver the end-to-end product roadmap for the core Intelligence Platform to support personalization on consumer-facing surfaces.
- Platform Product Management: Define the long-term vision, architecture, and capabilities of the underlying Intelligence Platform and MarTech stack, partnering with engineering and data leadership to enforce data quality and governance.
- Results-Driven Prioritization: Prioritize product initiatives that drive key business outcomes, specifically optimizing user engagement, retention, and lead submission by delivering highly relevant, tailored experiences.
- Stakeholder Management: Work with various stakeholders to take in requirements and requests and prioritize them accordingly.
- Personalization Orchestration: Oversee the development of insights and orchestration layers to transform ML models and insights into actionable elements via the front end.
2. ML & AI Product Strategy and Execution
- Recommendation Intelligence: Direct the product roadmaps for core ML-driven systems, including leading ML-driven recommendation systems (e.g., Similar Homes, Personalized Ranking).
- Model Integration: Expose personalization logic to front-end surfaces (app, web, CRM communications).
3. Personalization Experience & Front-End Delivery
- In-Product Experience Ownership: Oversee front-end in-product components such as registration flows, app first-time user experience, notifications center, in-product nudges (in-app messages).
- Dynamic Component Partnership: Partner with existing page owners to create dynamic page components/layouts that increase revenue and consumer engagement.
4. Core Intelligence & Data Foundation
- Membership & Identity Systems: Drive the roadmap for Membership—encompassing Identity Resolution, Authentication, and Registration flows—as well as Consumer Profile Service (CPS), and Geo Intelligence (DomGeo), ensuring a unified view of the user to power all personalized features and marketing activation.
- Architecture & Scalability: Oversee the design, engineering, and implementation of a scalable architecture, ensuring seamless data flow, system uptime, and integration between the core MarTech stack and downstream activation channels.
5. MarTech and Off-site Personalization Strategy
- MarTech Vision & Consolidation: Drive the strategic and technical vision for the core consumer data and activation ecosystem. Evaluate current systems & services (internal + vendor) to inform a strategy to consolidate platforms and address technical debt.
- CDP Strategy: Direct the full lifecycle of Customer Data Platform (CDP) readiness to support on-site and off-site personalization, including vendor selection and onboarding, leading to a decision on investment.
- Off-site Partnership: Act as a key partner to CRM and Marketing teams to ensure a unified, personalized approach across all channels.
- Segmentation Governance: Partner with the data team to strategically manage the governance of data in the CDP to ensure accurate and consistent use across the consumer organization.
6. Team Leadership & Organizational Impact
- Management & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and hire a team of Product Managers, establishing dedicated PM coverage for the Personalization use cases and the core Intelligence Platform.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Define the operating model for this horizontal team, collaborating with Engineering, Data Science, and Consumer organizations to gather requirements and drive adoption of shared intelligence capabilities.
Personalization Leaders Forum (PLF): Serve as a core member and lead the formation of the PLF, providing effective consultation and direction on capabilities, tooling, and development to Product and Marketing teams.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 12 years' experience with at least 7 years in leadership roles
- Experience managing enterprise-level martech platforms or internal intelligence systems, as well as engineering roadmaps
- AI knowledge and experience
- People management experience
- Previous hands-on engineering experience a plus
- Prior consumer marketplace experience a plus
