As Senior Director of Hospital Operations, you will direct the administrative, clinical and operational aspects of Hospital Operations within Weston Hospital’s 11 facilities. You will be responsible for the productivity of all departments in the hospital, some of which include surgical operations, respiratory therapy, front-end registration and Redcoats. As a member of the Executive Committee, you will participate in Monthly Business Reviews and support strategic initiatives through developing and implementing quality management protocols. Through daily interactions with other local Senior Leaders and across the organization at the local, regional and corporate level, you must navigate
competing priorities and have crucial conversations to mitigate risk, which, in all, will help support the growth of the hospital. Your work will help ensure that all elements of the hospital environment are operating safely and smoothly to support successful patient outcomes.
This is a dynamic healthcare system, working closely with leaders and caregivers at all levels, which allows for opportunities to develop and help others do the same while gaining exposure to the varied institutions across the network. This role provides a great place to learn and gain exposure across the organization for a variety of opportunities at a Senior level.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM with flexibility to support operational and emergency needs as they arise.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Oversee administrative, clinical and operational aspects of Hospital Operations departments falling under the Senior Director's control.
Be responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organizational structure in order to facilitate facility goals.
Establish standards and expectations for patient satisfaction.
Promote and maintain good patient and customer relations and perform patient/customer satisfaction assessment via surveys and questionnaires.
Monitor the environment and implement change to ensure patient comfort and safety, as well as for caregivers within their respective work areas.
Develop reporting mechanisms and key indicators to describe the workload volume and acuity, patient interventions, quality performance, clinical outcomes and productivity of the departments' operations and services.
Monitor and analyze trends and reports and recommend actions to the COO based on these indicators to improve personnel staffing patterns, service quality and/or productivity performance.
Direct the development and implementation of business plans for new or revised ventures and/or expansion of services and programs that may include the acquisition of other practices and/or services to include facilities as well as personnel.
Research, perform analysis, compile data and advise the COO relative to long-range planning strategies, department organization, financial forecasting, personnel management, patient relations, space and equipment, marketing strategies and external institution relations.
Ensure development and completion of the budgetary process for departments as related to annual operating and capital budgets, with respect to expenses, revenue and fee schedules and ongoing financial monitors and reports.
Serve on appropriate committees and other groups as the administrative representative of the respective departments and disseminates information from other sources to the departments.
Promote and maintain harmonious inter-intra departmental relationships and represent the departments in coordinating administrative and operational activities which interface with other departments.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance or equivalent
OR Doctorate Degree within a medical field
Five or more years of progressively responsible administrative and clinical management experience in an acute care hospital setting
