Position Overview:
The Senior Director of Facilities oversees the Facilities team to develop, propose, and implement strategic and tactical programs for planned and reactive maintenance services, asset replacement scheduling, and capitalized renovation projects. This includes the development of annual and long-term plans to support programs, prioritizing work based on asset conditions and available resources, and adjusting to changing needs. The objective is to maintain shops and sites in a customer-pleasing manner and to support Operations’ and company goals.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Facilities or Asset Management, including enterprise or national scope responsibility
Proven track record of developing and executing long-term strategy, not just operational leadership
Experience leading in high-growth, multi-unit environments (QSR strongly preferred)
Demonstrated ownership of large-scale budgets and capital planning initiatives
Strong background in vendor strategy, contract negotiation, and cost optimization at scale
Experience driving digital transformation, systems implementation, and data-driven decision making
Deep technical knowledge (MEP, refrigeration, building systems), with ability to translate into business strategy
Proven ability to influence C-level and cross-functional executives
25% travel required
Must be an effective negotiator; able to understand and successfully negotiate multiple or complex contracts and other agreements to achieve company goals and contain costs
This position requires driving, when necessary
Location Requirement:
This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days. Relocation Assistance available for candidates that qualify.

Enterprise Facilities Strategy & Asset Optimization
Define and own a long-term Facilities strategy aligned to company growth, market expansion, and financial objectives
Establish a portfolio-wide asset management strategy, including lifecycle planning, capital allocation, and risk mitigation frameworks
Partner with Development, Operations, Finance, and Real Estate to ensure Facilities is a strategic enabler of new site growth and market entry
Lead prototype evolution strategy, balancing brand standards, cost efficiency, operational practicality, and speed to market
Develop and implement enterprise-wide standards, policies, and governance models to ensure consistency at scale
Shop, Site & Portfolio Performance
Oversee end-to-end performance of the national Facilities portfolio, including uptime, asset health, repair timelines, and cost efficiency
Establish predictive and preventative maintenance strategies that reduce reactive spend and extend asset life
Drive continuous improvement of condition assessment programs, ensuring data informs capital planning and prioritization
Ensure all repairs, renovations, and new builds align to future-state standards, not just current needs
Champion sustainability and energy optimization initiatives, tying efforts to measurable cost savings and ESG goals
Financial Leadership & Capital Planning
Own and optimize a multi-million dollar operating and capital budget, ensuring ROI-driven decision making
Build and execute long-range capital plans, including remodels, replacements, and infrastructure investments
Identify and deliver cost savings opportunities through vendor strategy, purchasing leverage, and operational efficiencies
Implement financial forecasting models tied to asset lifecycle, growth projections, and inflationary pressures
Design and lead a national vendor strategy, including sourcing, performance management, and consolidation opportunities
Negotiate complex, enterprise-level contracts that drive cost efficiency, service quality, and scalability
Establish vendor performance frameworks using KPIs, SLAs, and scorecards tied to business outcomes
Build strategic partnerships that introduce innovation, technology, and best-in-class service models
Organizational Leadership & Talent Strategy
Build and lead a high-performing, scalable organization, including regional leaders and support functions
Define organizational design and resourcing strategy aligned to rapid growth and changing market conditions

Physical Requirements:
In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings
Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
