The Senior Logistics Director will a team with the responsibility for developing short term and long term strategic planning of distribution network in the full EMEACLA region, ensuring delivery of organizational goals and growth plans are achieved while will lead the distribution centers' strategy. This role understands the regions change in Go To Market strategy and include this within the GSC(Global Supply Chain) Strategic plan.
This role is on site, it requires 30% travelling flexibility and the primary location of the successful candidate is Netherlands(Tilburg), alternatively Switzerland(Nyon).
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, plan and lead regional logistics and distribution strategy in alignment with growth plans, delivering on cost, quality and service objectives across transportation, carrier network, supply channels, and distribution centers. Research and identify best practices and trends, prioritize and select appropriate projects, lead in identifying risks, developing complex mitigation strategies, defining best practices and alternative solutions, driving standardization and controls, and resolving issues in collaboration with cross-functional and/or corporate teams.
• Direct team members and/or provide direction to matrix teams in the execution of the distribution network design and plans including identifying strategic providers, implementing sound supplier relationships and management processes, ensuring providers deliver on agreed commitments in partnership with cross functional stakeholders (e.g., Global Logistics) for issuance and/or implementation of regional and global contracts.
• Develop and lead the implementation of network-wide strategies to ensure business continuity Identify, escalate, and develop plans to mitigate/eliminate risks, direct and communicate BU/GSC strategies which include collaborating with internal parties
• Develop a robust distribution management capability in the region, including mentoring and developing others as part of GSC talent development, succession planning and growth strategies
• Establish strong partnership and act as liaison between stakeholders (e.g., VP Global Logistics, Commercial teams, GPS&L and Supplier Quality organizations, and distribution centers’ partners) while ensuring new product readiness indicators are in place and effective
• Responsible for driving performance improvements in the key indicators for distribution and/or end to end supply chain operations optimization and service levels, while meeting cost targets and establishing effective measures and standards
• Drive a value stream mindset and culture of continuous improvement based on lean and Six Sigma principles
• Other Project identified to support the Emerging market Growth (Go to market changes)
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in in related field related experience in planning, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, and/or materials management Required and
Other: in Certification in related field (e.g., CTLD, APICS) Preferred
• Experience with Six Sigma and lean principles
• Demonstrated track record in people management Required
• Experience working in a regulated industry Preferred
Additional Skills:
• Proven successful project management leadership skills
• Proficient in both Microsoft Office Suite and related systems including JDE, Advanced Planning Systems working with Demand Flow methodology
• Proven expertise in warehouse and distribution technologies (e.g., RFID, WMS, Bar Coding)
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making
• Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
• Expert understanding of global supply chain logistic and distribution methods, modes, third party dependencies and principles while looking beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems
• Expert understanding of related aspects of logistics processes and/or systems
• Expert understanding transportation, carrier network, supply channels, and distribution centers.
• Expert knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to planning, purchasing, and logistics
• Expert understanding of planning concepts and requirements (e.g., CRP (Capacity Requirement Planning), MRP (Material Requirements Plan), Production Scheduling and Sequencing
• Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
• Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of planning, purchasing, and logistics to the business
• Serve as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, Regions and IT
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
• Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
• Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions
