What you'll be doing

The Senior Director, Insurance Marketing is an Integrated Marketing leader who provides end-to-end ownership of marketing for CIBC’s Insurance portfolio—including Travel, Creditor, Home & Auto, and Life. This role drives topline growth by leading strategy, execution, and continuous optimization of marketing initiatives to maximize brand awareness, consideration, and client acquisition.

As a seasoned leader and subject matter expert, you are accountable for all aspects of integrated marketing: brand/product positioning, creative development, media strategy planning & execution, performance marketing, reporting, direct-to-client communications, and budget management. You will drive brand awareness and new account acquisition, as well as engagement activities, through exceptional partnership, relationship management, and strategic alignment across teams.

A core focus of this role is leveraging data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive ongoing optimization of marketing programs, ensuring maximum impact and ROI.

How you'll succeed

  • End-to-End Performance Marketing Ownership: Lead the development, execution, and continuous optimization of integrated marketing strategies and campaigns across paid, organic, owned, and earned channels—including partnerships.

  • People Management and Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing Marketing team, delivering strategic and performance-driven campaigns that support business objectives. Foster an environment of initiative, continuous improvement, learning, and innovation.

  • Financial Planning: Oversee, optimize, and manage the annual marketing investment with detailed financial planning and tracking, ensuring accountability for budgets and contracts with suppliers, vendors, and agencies.

  • Relationship Management: Manage agency performance via shared goals, KPIs, and insights. Leverage strategic capabilities of external partners to maximize revenue opportunities and long-term goals. Maintain effective relationships with internal partners and external agencies, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices.

  • Data-Driven Optimization: Partner with Personal & Business Banking data and analytics team to drive focus and develop approach to deliver dynamic data, analytics & technology solutions to meet current and emerging consumer & marketplace trends.

  • Measurement: Partner closely with performance analytics team to develop and apply mix modeling, performance analytics, and test/learn/scale agenda to media planning and optimization to maximize media ROI.

  • AI: Drive automation and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to enable efficiency and optimization.

  • Cross-Functional Connectivity: Foster collaboration across Money In, Money Out marketing leads, product teams, and consumer insights.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of insurance industry experience (across any insurance segment, including broker/agent model) as a mandatory requirement.

  • You bring 15+ years of experience in Integrated Marketing, Performance Marketing, Brand Marketing, and direct-to-consumer marketing, including 5+ years in a leadership role within insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.

  • You leverage data and analytics to drive marketing optimization and decision-making.
