Salesforce Office of the CEO is seeking a strategic leader to join our team as the Senior Director, Information Security Office of the CEO. This is a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the VP of Product Strategy leader as a member of the Office of the CEO Team, responsible for building and guiding a team to proactively mitigate enterprise risk and ensure the secure enablement of our digital enterprise technology.

About the Role:
 

The Senior Director, Information Security Office of the CEO will lead a team dedicated to safeguarding our critical assets and ensuring business continuity. This individual will be at the forefront of our security strategy, building robust partnerships with both the Digital Enterprise Technology and the broader Security organizations. The successful candidate will be a strong leader, passionate about developing their team and removing roadblocks to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and mature our enterprise security posture, directly influencing our ability to innovate and operate securely.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic vision for how to improve security by design, using tools to secure development and data.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of security professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and proactive risk management. Remove obstacles to ensure team success.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with senior leadership within the Digital Enterprise Technology organization to securely enable their technology initiatives. Act as a trusted advisor, translating security requirements into actionable business-centric guidance.

  • Security and Risk Management: Oversee the strategic mitigation of enterprise risk through the development and implementation of proactive controls, robust access management protocols, and integrated compliance frameworks.

  • Control Advisory and Compliance: Provide expert security control advisory and compliance guidance to technology partners. Ensure alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and our internal security standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the broader Security organization to ensure the team's efforts are in lockstep with enterprise-wide security goals and initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive the continuous improvement of security processes and deliverables, ensuring the team provides high-value, timely, and effective security guidance
     

Experience:

  • A related technical degree required.

  • 10+ years of experience in information security, with a significant portion of that time in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in building and managing high-performing security teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) or similar role, acting as a security liaison to business or technology divisions.

  • Extensive experience with enterprise risk management, control development, access management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).

Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a focus on mentorship and team enablement.

  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align with strategic business objectives.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise technology domains, including IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (e.g., Salesforce), data management, and software engineering.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build bridges between technical and non-technical teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and act decisively.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $218,400 - $365,200 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $263,200 - $401,400 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
