Lilly Ethics and Compliance is committed to helping the company deliver high performance with high integrity.  The Senior Director – Ethics and Compliance Investigations – Intercontinental Hub and Europe will be responsible for conducting complex compliance-related investigations across Europe and Intercontinental Hub countries.

Responsibilities: 

This position reports to the Associate Vice President – Ethics and Compliance Internal Investigations and is responsible for leading & conducting complex investigations into potential violations of company policies on a global scale. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.  

  • Lead and manage complex investigations into potential violations of company policies
  • Develop and execute strategy for investigative plans, including conducting interviews, collecting and analyzing evidence
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Lead the presentation of investigations outcomes to senior management and actively guide the implementation of recommended solutions and corrective actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, HR, and other departments to support compliance efforts
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, best practices in compliance investigations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Law degree, Certified Fraud Examiner, Internal Audit, or other equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting complex investigations in a legal, compliance, or regulatory environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required
  • English language professional proficiency (verbal and written)

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • 5+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or a similarly highly regulated industry
  • Global experience conducting complex investigations
  • Experience with GRC tools or other similar technology platforms
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple investigations simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of handling sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • High ethical standards and integrity
