Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration. Finance and Audit Technology (FIAT) is part of GFT supporting RBCs CFO group.
As the Senior Director, ERP Program Management, where you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a global ERP implementation. This role will oversee and align the efforts of entity integrations, ensuring seamless integration, governance, and execution of ERP programs across the organization. You will act as a key partner to senior leadership, driving strategic alignment, operational excellence, and value realization from the ERP transformation.
What will you potentially do?
Leadership and Strategy
Partner with senior leadership across business, finance, and technology functions to define and execute a comprehensive ERP transformation roadmap.
Develop and communicate the strategic vision for ERP initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and business outcomes.
Establish and drive the "case for change," translating the ERP program vision into actionable strategies, high-level scope, and clear deliverables.
Define program value and success metrics, focusing on measurable business outcomes and ensuring benefit realization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure alignment and buy-in for ERP initiatives.
Act as the primary delivery partner to program leadership, aligning with the Program Director and ERP Architect to ensure strategic priorities are met.
Program Delivery and Operational Excellence
Lead the enterprise-wide ERP implementation, ensuring adherence to the global design template and leveraging lessons learned to accelerate adoption.
Oversee the delivery of multiple concurrent ERP workstreams, managing complex interdependencies and ensuring alignment across all entity-level project management teams.
Enforce ERP governance to uphold the integrity of the global template design across all entity rollouts.
Develop and manage an integrated master schedule and budget for the ERP program, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Establish and monitor program and project performance metrics, including KPIs, financials, and status reporting, to ensure transparency and accountability.
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring effective issue resolution and risk management strategies are in place.
Oversee the implementation of program and project management best practices, ensuring adherence to the organization’s Program Management Framework and industry standards.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide strategic leadership to a diverse team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
Coach and mentor project managers on program management methodologies, strategic thinking, and professional growth.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex issues, providing clear, data-driven recommendations and updates to the steering committee and senior leadership.
Promote an inclusive and supportive team environment, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
Establish succession plans for key positions, including your own role, and ensure the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to support the ERP transformation.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or a related field.
15+ years of leadership experience managing large-scale, complex transformation programs, including multi-entity rollouts in global financial institutions.
Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and their implementation, including integration with enterprise GL systems, data migration, and custom development.
Strong expertise in program and project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid), financial management, and reporting.
Proven ability to lead organizations through significant structural and process change, with exceptional organizational change management skills.
Superior executive-level communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical, and planning skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and foster an inclusive team environment.
Nice-to-have
MBA or other advanced degree.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Change Management certification.
Direct experience with core financial systems (e.g., ERP, EPM, consolidation tools).
