About the role:
We are hiring a Senior Director, Portfolio Architect, to serve as the strategic bridge between our business vision and technology landscape. In this role, you will align our Commercial Technology Services portfolio with our long-term business strategy, unlocking significant value by rationalizing a complex global ecosystem into a powerful, efficient engine for growth.
As the architectural steward for our front-office technology, you will be accountable for lowering Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), eliminating redundancy, and ensuring every digital investment—whether built or bought—directly supports our commercial teams in driving profitability and market leadership. You will serve as a senior advisor to Commercial and Product leadership, guiding the transition from a fragmented landscape to a unified, high-value portfolio.
Evaluate the current state of the global Real Estate Services application landscape to identify redundancies, shadow IT, and inefficiencies.
Drive the strategy to retire, retain, or re-platform assets, achieving a measurable reduction in redundant applications and lowering portfolio TCO.
Create and maintain the Business Capability Map for Services, ensuring technology investments fill critical capability gaps rather than just adding isolated features.
Partner with Product Management to translate business vision into a multi-year architectural roadmap, ensuring 100% of major investments link to defined business capabilities and growth targets.
Ensure the product roadmap is technically viable and aligned with enterprise standards, accelerating time-to-value by advocating for the reuse of shared enterprise capabilities.
Guide hands-on Solution Architects in producing detailed architecture and designs for globally scalable digital products, ensuring technical excellence and operational feasibility.
Govern solution delivery by reviewing and approving designs to ensure strict alignment with strategy, standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
Ensure all commercial solutions leverage the foundational building blocks produced by the Cloud (e.g., GCP landing zones, platform engineering) and Data & AI Architecture (e.g., Gemini capabilities, Dataplex catalog) domains to avoid duplication and maximize value.
Lead the Buy-vs-Build decision process: rigorously evaluating SaaS vendors against internal development based on strategic value, fit, and cost.
Guide the selection of strategic platforms that can scale globally across regions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to Commercial Leadership and Regional CEOs, translating "architectural health" into business terms (risk, speed, margin).
Bridge the gap between Business Strategy and the technical delivery teams (Solution Architects/Engineering), providing clear functional direction.
Monitor Prop Tech trends specifically in Real Estate Services (e.g., AI in leasing, automated valuation models).
What you bring:
12+ years of experience in technology, with at least 5+ years in Product Architecture, Business Architecture, or Portfolio Management roles.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
A proven track record of rationalizing complex portfolios, reducing application counts, and lowering TCO in a large, global enterprise.
Deep experience leading Buy-vs-Build evaluations and managing technology investment governance
Strong familiarity with Commercial Real Estate Services (Leasing, Capital Markets) or a closely related professional services industry.
Experience working in a product-led organization, partnering closely with Product Managers and Business Leaders.
Ability to model CapEx/OpEx implications of technology choices and optimize portfolio ROI
You think in terms of Revenue, Margin, and TCO, not just API, Cloud, and Code.
Collaborates effectively across North America, EMEA, and APAC time zones to drive unified outcome
