The Senior Director, Early Patient Engagement & Professional Societies EU will provide strategic leadership and lead European early patient initiatives focused on ensuring the patient and care partner voice are integrated into our clinical development programs, patient strategy and evidence generation across Europe and Globally. Reporting to the Executive Director, Global Head, Early Patient Engagement & Professional Societies in Medical Affairs, this role serves as a strategic advisor to senior cross-functional and regional leadership across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, and European Country Heads. This position is a high-visibility role elevating the patient voice across BeOne’s Hematology and Solid Tumor portfolio in R & D. This strategic patient engagement leader will build transparent and trusted relationships with key European patient organizations and professional societies, embedding the Patient Voice in our R & D, and BeOne’s DNA.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Strategic Leadership
Lead the European Early Patient Engagement strategy aligned to global R&D and portfolio priorities
Embed patient insight into asset strategy, protocol design, endpoint selection, diversity planning, and lifecycle evidence
Influence regulatory and JCA readiness through integration of patient-relevant outcomes and comparative evidence planning
Contribute portfolio-level patient and care partner insights on unmet need and treatment burden to inform prioritization and investment decisions
Patient Partnerships
Build executive-level partnerships with leading European patient organizations and professional societies
Lead and develop a prioritized European patient engagement framework and roadmap integrated into key development and JCA milestones
Lead co-creation patient and care partner initiatives that inform clinical design, strategy, evidence strategy, and R & D patient-facing materials
Represent the organization as a leader in patient-centered innovation across Europe
Evidence Generation
Shape evidence strategies by integrating patient insights, early patient digital tools, and real-world patient approaches
Lead /support patient-generated data and insights to strengthen regulatory submissions and to support EU HTA/JCA value narratives, partnering with key cross functional teams
Establish structured frameworks to integrate patient experience across development milestones
Operational Excellence
Drive multi-year planning, prioritization, and resource allocation for European patient engagement initiatives
Define KPIs linking patient engagement to measurable development, regulatory, and access outcomes
Implement scalable, compliant processes across the region
Cross-Functional & Regional Leadership
Serve as a senior advisor across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, and European Country Leadership.
Act as a strategic partner to European Country Heads, aligning global development priorities with local country patient needs.
Develop and lead regional leadership forums to ensure patient insight informs governance and portfolio decisions.
Qualifications:
Experienced leader with 12+ years in biotech/pharma industry with patient engagement R & D and patient advocacy expertise
Hematology and oncology xperience, strongly preferred
Knowledge of compliant scientific exchange, best practices interacting with patient organizations globally /regionally
Strong ability to lead and gain consensus amongst cross functional stakeholders
Strategic thinker, strong communication skills, demonstrated patient centric mindset and commitment
Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills
Ability to build rapport quickly with a diverse group of individuals and partners
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, strong sense of accountability and sound judgment
Demonstrated strategic capabilities and ability to work effectively in complex and rapidly changing environments
Proven track record of building partnerships with patient organizations, professional societies and alliances
Ability to navigate complex, cross-functional environments and align diverse stakeholders
Deadline-driven, with multiple priorities acting with a sense of urgency
Strong prioritization, collaboration and planning skills working across multiple time zones
Fluency in multiple languages a plus
Computer Skills: PC, including MS Office Suite
Travel:
Basel HQ-based (Hybrid), Quarterly on-site at BeOne’s Basel HQ and as needed for strategic meetings and in-person events
Travel up to ~ 30% Ability to travel domestically internationally as needed meetings, conferences
