How will you make an impact:
As a Senior Director of IT at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will advance innovation and operational excellence across our enterprise. This strategic leadership role involves developing and implementing technology strategies that ensure secure and efficient operation of enterprise applications, infrastructure, and communications systems. You'll collaborate with division leadership teams and coordinate with our IT organization to deliver exceptional service, manage substantial IT budgets, and guide high-performing teams of IT professionals. Your leadership will be integral in advancing digital transformation initiatives, incorporating AI/ML, automation, and advanced analytics to support business growth and innovation.

Working at the intersection of technology and business strategy, you'll help shape how Thermo Fisher leverages technology to advance our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll build comprehensive technology roadmaps, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives. How will you get here?
Education
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in IT leadership roles, including senior-level management experience
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
Experience
• Demonstrated success advancing digital transformation and technology innovation initiatives
• Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive IT strategies aligned with business objectives
• Experience managing large IT budgets and portfolios
• Excellence in stakeholder management and executive-level communication
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and digital platforms
• Experience leading and developing teams of 40+ IT professionals
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Expertise in project portfolio management and governance
• Experience working in highly regulated industries (life sciences, healthcare preferred)
• Background in managing vendor relationships and strategic partnerships
• Successful experience in matrix organizations
• Experience with mergers & acquisitions technology integration
• Change management and organizational transformation skills
• Record of implementing best practices in cybersecurity and compliance
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $212,000.00–$317,975.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
