ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer’s Cloud Services team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the enterprise cloud infrastructure that powers our global digital ecosystem. This team enables scalable, resilient, and high-performing cloud environments that support scientific innovation, manufacturing, and business operations across the organization.
We are seeking an experienced individual of Cloud Services to lead Pfizer’s cloud engineering and operations program. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), this leader will drive enterprise-wide initiatives across cloud platform architecture, infrastructure automation, workload migration, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud-native technologies, infrastructure-as-code, and multi-cloud operations, with a proven track record of leading large-scale cloud transformation programs in complex enterprise environments.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and execute Pfizer’s cloud engineering and operations strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business priorities.
Design, deploy, and optimize multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS and Azure), enabling scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure to support Pfizer’s global operations.
Drive infrastructure automation initiatives to improve agility and reduce operational overhead.
Oversee cloud workload migration programs, ensuring seamless transition of applications and services from on-prem to cloud environments.
Establish and maintain operational excellence across cloud environments, including performance monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management.
Collaborate with application, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure cloud platforms meet the needs of diverse workloads and business functions.
Partner with enterprise architecture and security teams to ensure cloud designs are aligned with governance, compliance, and resiliency standards.
Develop and manage budgets for cloud services, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost optimization across platforms.
Build and mentor a high-performing cloud engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Stay current on emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform Pfizer’s cloud strategy and roadmap.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, security operations, or related fields.
12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform operations, with at least 8 years in leadership roles.
Proven expertise in designing and operating cloud platforms across AWS and Azure.
Strong background in infrastructure automation, cloud architecture, and workload migration.
Experience managing large-scale cloud operations in a global enterprise environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, and SRE practices
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
