Why Colliers?

About the role:
We are hiring a visionary yet hands-on leader to drive our critical transformation from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a defining moment in our digital evolution. You will architect the foundation that enables our Digital Transformation and AI Adoption, moving us from legacy patterns to a cloud-native, automated, and secure future.
As the Senior Director of Cloud Architecture, you will unify our global cloud strategy and establish a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to instill governance, financial discipline, and engineering rigor. You must be comfortable operating at all altitudes —equally adept at articulating value to the C-Suite as you are drawing detailed architecture diagrams, reviewing Terraform configurations, and leading whiteboarding sessions with engineers.
Lead the enterprise migration from Azure to GCP, defining the target landing zone architecture, resource hierarchy (Organization/Folders/Projects), network topology (Shared VPCs, Interconnects, Cloud VPN), and identity federation strategy (Azure AD → Workforce Identity Federation).
Develop a migration factory approach to prioritize and move workloads, balancing "lift and shift" speed with "modernize" value (e.g., leveraging GKE Autopilot, Cloud Run, and serverless patterns).
Create and own the multi-year Cloud Strategy roadmap, ensuring every architectural decision enables business agility, cost efficiency, and security outcomes.
Establish a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) as a hub for enablement rather than a bottleneck, providing standards, reusable modules, and coaching to teams
Build an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) with "golden paths" (IaC templates, CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, observability) and policy-as-code guardrails to accelerate delivery
Lead FinOps discipline: Define tagging/labeling standards, implement showback/chargeback models, automated cost policies, and manage the Committed Use Discount (CUD) strategy with forecasting. Partner with Finance on budgets and variance analysis.
Architect high-performance infrastructure required for AI Adoption, including scalable patterns for GKE, GPU/TPU resource management and quotas, and high-throughput networking for data payloads.
Partner with Data & AI leadership to productionize Vertex AI, establishing model governance (lineage, drift detection, audit) and MLOps pipelines.
Accelerate modern app delivery using serverless (Cloud Run), Event-driven patterns (Pub/Sub, Eventarc), and managed data services.
Regular review of Terraform modules, GitHub Actions/Cloud Deploy configurations, and Kubernetes manifests.
Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs) and service evaluations to validate new GCP services prior to enterprise rollout; publish decision records.
Define Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) standards (SLOs, error budgets, incident management, runbooks) and Disaster Recovery (DR) patterns.
Manage relationships with Google Cloud, GSIs/MSPs, and professional services partners; set standards for partner delivery quality.
Mentor Principal Architects and Lead Engineers, raising the technical bar and fostering a learning culture.\
What you bring:
15+ years of technology experience, with at least 7+ years in a senior architecture role leading complex cloud initiatives.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Proven success leading a large-scale migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ideally from a legacy or alternative cloud environment (Azure/AWS).
Experience establishing or leading a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and implementing FinOps operating models.
Prior ownership of CUD/SUD negotiations and multi-million-dollar cloud budgets is highly preferred.
Sufficient knowledge of Azure architecture (networking, identity, security controls) to effectively plan and de-risk the migration strategy.
Deep hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Cloud Build/Cloud Deploy), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Experience architecting infrastructure that supports data-intensive and compute-intensive AI workloads (Vertex AI/MLOps).
Ability to simplify complex technical trade-offs into clear business outcomes for executive stakeholders.
