About the Role:

We are currently looking to add a Senior Director of Business Development to our team. This person will help grow our market expansion by identifying and incubating untapped partnership categories, from the initial outreach, through the final implementation. Candidates should be highly ambitious, passionate about digital media, tech-savvy and entrepreneurial in nature. You can think outside the box, take on initiatives, lead an idea from inception to implementation and deliver results. You are a team player and willing to roll up your sleeves for the benefit of the group. You’ve had experience structuring complex partnerships and shown results with companies varying from Fortune 500 companies to 20 person startups. You will identify, develop, negotiate and implement a consistent pipeline of high impact alliances, and diversify our acquisition channels to drive business growth. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, structure, negotiate and close large scale partnership deals that align with our growth targets
  • Develop compelling business cases and prioritize partner roadmaps by demonstrating mutual value through rigorous opportunity sizing and quantitative analysis
  • Conduct in-depth studies of potential subscriber growth and revenue upside to ensure every partnership aligns with Fubo's core financial objectives
  • Collaborate closely with various internal groups to evaluate all proposed integrations and roadmap items 
  • Ensure all projects are balanced against technical capacity and that resources are allocated to the high priority projects 
  • Structure innovative deal frameworks (e.g., product bundling, loyalty program integrations, or hardware pre-installs) that differentiate Fubo in a competitive streaming market
  • Think strategically and contribute to and help shape the vision of business development at fubo
  • Lead the end-to-end negotiation process for complex commercial agreements, ensuring favorable terms regarding subscriber acquisition costs (SAC), revenue share, and brand visibility
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal and Finance teams throughout the lifecycle of a deal and champion objectives of the deal across the organization
  • Own and manage the partnership from incubation to negotiation to implementation and partner management after the deal
  • Build external relationships and become their advocate internally
  • Must be willing/able to travel on a regular basis to represent fubo at industry events, conferences, and meetings with clients/partners

Qualities in an ideal candidate:

  • 10+ years of business development, distribution, technology licensing, and partnership management experience (preferably, in digital media and entertainment, a technology platform, retail, or direct-to-consumer sectors) 
  • Extensive background in identifying and executing complex commercial agreements that drive significant subscriber growth and brand equity in competitive markets
  • Demonstrated success operating within fast-paced environments, where adaptability and rapid execution are essential for capturing market share
  • Expert at navigating ambiguity and pivoting strategies based on real-time market feedback and shifting company priorities 
  • Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional teams by aligning stakeholders from multiple departments toward a common partnership goal
  • Must have deep experience in negotiating contracts with internal and external legal, product and business development teams
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to pitch ideas to senior leadership, with data to back up decisions 
  • Be able to clearly present ideas and advocate for deals while being open to collaborative feedback and constructive criticism
  • Self-starter with ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment in a quickly changing industry with little guidance
  • Understand market dynamics and closely follow trends in media and entertainment industries
  • Personable, takes initiative, analytical and curious in nature, keen attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret legal documents, work with lawyers to draft agreements and negotiate with partners
  • Ability to quickly learn and pinpoint opportunities in industries with no prior knowledge
  • Data-driven and highly analytical, with the ability to size opportunities
  • Ideal candidate will bring ideas and key industry relationships to the table 
  • BA/BS degree; MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Amplitude, Tableau, SQL a plus

Fubo’s minimum base salary for this role if hired in New York City is $190,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $235,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO, and a full range of medical benefits. The final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, and other business considerations.
