Sr. Director, North America Strategy

Job Summary

The Senior Director, North America Strategy leads the development, integration, and execution of long- term, mid-term, and short-term strategies for the U.S. and Canada businesses. This leader serves as a trusted advisor to the VP, Strategy & Transformation and senior executives across the organization — driving structured strategy processes, market intelligence, and enterprise alignment to enable growth and transformation. This role combines deep strategic acumen, business insight, and storytelling capabilities to connect strategy creation to execution, ensuring that the organization is focused, aligned, and equipped to achieve its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the North America corporate strategy, including unique U.S. and Canadian business priorities while identifying cross-alignment opportunities. Deliver a North America strategy roadmap aligned with long-term enterprise goals and transformation priorities.
  • Translate enterprise goals into actionable strategies and investment priorities for near-, mid-, and long-term growth.
  • Identify strategic opportunities through market, customer, and competitive analysis — including market share tracking, emerging trends, and industry benchmarking.
  • Establish and maintain structured strategy frameworks for competitive analysis, market and growth opportunity identification, and portfolio optimization.
  • Manage strategic planning cycles, including scenario planning, scorecards, and portfolio performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Transformation Office teams to ensure strategies are backed by business cases, investment models, and value realization measures.
  • Track and analyze North American market dynamics, including macroeconomic trends, customer behavior, and competitive movements.
  • Develop and recommend market entry, expansion, and differentiation strategies to drive profitable growth.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Product teams to ensure strategic decisions are informed by market intelligence and customer insights.
  • Translate strategy into compelling narratives that engage and align the organization — connecting strategic priorities to business execution.
  • Lead communication and storytelling for strategy across internal and external audiences, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs), leadership meetings, and enterprise updates.
  • Partner with HR, Change Management, and Communications to embed strategy into culture, leadership behaviors, and performance metrics.
  • Develop robust, insight-driven strategies and action plans to solve complex business challenges and capitalize on new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Strategy, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or strategic planning — ideally within a multi-market or global organization.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear strategies and communicate effectively with senior executives.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience leading market analysis, portfolio strategy, and growth planning processes.
  • Skilled in influencing without authority and driving alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders.
