Senior Director, Analytics and Automation

We are seeking an accomplished Data & Analytics Leader to build, scale, and own the end-to-end data ecosystem for Curriculum Associates. This role leads our Data & Insights Center of Excellence and is responsible for setting the enterprise data vision, defining strategy, and ensuring seamless execution across data engineering, data platforms, data governance, data quality, operations, and enterprise analytics.

The ideal candidate is an influential and strategic leader who can balance long-term platform thinking with short-term business value delivery. They will elevate how the company uses data—moving from functional reporting to a modern, governed, scalable data and analytics capability that fuels decision-making, automation, and growth.

Success in this role will be measured by the maturity of data foundations, improved data quality, adoption of analytics, and measurable business impact from insights and data-driven decision making.

The Impact You'll Have:

Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy

  • Define and execute a comprehensive enterprise-wide data and analytics strategy, aligned to organizational goals and future growth.

  • Establish the roadmap for data engineering, governance, quality, operations, and insights—balancing innovation, speed, and reliability.

  • Drive modernization of data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, Databricks) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).

Data Engineering & Data Platform Leadership

  • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines, data models, and integration frameworks.

  • Own the enterprise data architecture and evolving the data stack in partnership with Engineering and Cloud teams.

  • Oversee ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and monitoring to ensure timely and accurate data availability.

Data Governance & Data Quality

  • Establish a strong data governance operating model including ownership, stewardship, standards, and policies.

  • Implement frameworks for data quality measurement, metadata management, cataloguing, lineage, and controlled access.

  • Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal, and business leaders to ensure data is used responsibly, ethically, and compliantly.

Data Operations & Platform Management

  • Own end-to-end data operations, focusing on system reliability, SLAs, monitoring, performance optimization, and operational excellence.

  • Set up incident management, change management, and service-level processes for data platforms.

  • Ensure predictable, scalable, and well-documented data operations for all business functions.

Enterprise Insights & Analytics

  • Lead a global team of analysts and insight specialists to deliver actionable dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics.

  • Define enterprise KPI frameworks, business logic, and reporting standards.

  • Champion self-service analytics through curated semantic models, governed datasets, and reusable analytics assets.

  • Promote data storytelling and build a culture of insight-driven decision making across all functions.

Leadership, Stakeholder Management & Change Enablement

  • Build, coach, and scale a high-performing global team across US and India.

  • Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to executives and business leaders across Product, Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, and Customer Experience.

  • Influence and drive organizational adoption of analytics platforms and data-driven behaviors.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and data literacy.

Measurement & Business Impact

  • Define success metrics for data platforms, analytics, and insight adoption.

  • Track value realization from data initiatives, demonstrating operational efficiency, revenue impact, customer insights, or quality improvements.

  • Report progress, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.

Who We're Looking For:

Technical & Functional Expertise

  • Proven experience leading full-stack data organizations including engineering, governance, operations, and analytics.

  • Strong command of relational and cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, Azure Data Services, Databricks, etc.).

  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT frameworks, pipelines, orchestration tools, and API integrations.

  • Expertise in BI and visualization tools (Power BI preferred).

  • Thorough knowledge of enterprise data governance, data quality management, metadata, and master data concepts.

Leadership & Strategic Skills

  • 12–18 years of experience in data and analytics roles, with at least 7–10 years in leadership positions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale global teams in a matrixed, fast-moving environment.

  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills with the ability to influence senior executives.

  • Experience driving enterprise adoption of new tools, platforms, and ways of working.

Industry & Business Acumen

  • Experience supporting diverse business functions such as Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations, or Customer Experience.

  • Prior experience in an EdTech, SaaS, consumer, or digital enterprise environment is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of operational processes, KPIs, and business performance metrics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 12-18 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data insights roles.

  • 7-10 years of experience leading high-performing analytics or insights teams.

  • Experience supporting diverse business functions such as Finance, Sales, Marketing, Product, or Operations with data insights in a leadership role.

  • Experience standing up a centralized Data CoE or building a modern data platform from ground up

  • Industry certifications in analytics or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) are a plus.

Pay Range – This role’s range is $126,750. - $233,750. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. This role is also eligible to participate in the company bonus plan. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
