Te Tūranga – About the role
As a Senior Digital Product Owner you will be working in a future-focused Customer team who are responsible for leading and creating innovative digital consumer facing products and services that truly differentiate us from our competitors by creating memorable ‘value add’ customer experiences.
You’ll help lead the use of modern techniques, toolsets, and paradigms that allow us to be innovative, agile and resilient; adapting and acting fast to differentiate ourselves in an increasingly competitive, data connected and digital-driven world.
To do this you’ll:
· Maximise the commercial business opportunities from our digital products and ensure that the delivery teams focus on creating product feature changes that deliver true ‘value add’ to our consumers and grow our business thorough customer loyalty and adoption.
· Work very closely with Product Managers, contributing to product design, discovery, product strategy, UX testing, and roadmap planning. Build a best-in-class omni-channel experience.
· Be responsible for the discovery, creation, and maintenance of product documentation where it adds value and provides traceability.
· Collaborate with Product Managers and other Product Owners to ensure any new products / features in development have no negative flow on effects to our core stack of products when released into production.
· Foster a culture of making decisions based on data. Use metrics that provide valuable insights to business decisions. Comfortable with OKR creation and tracking
· Lead the scrum team (or multiple teams) with the Delivery Manager to ensure their performance is at optimal level & that they are delivering to business objectives while continuing to meet the sprint goals.
· Work very closely with Scrum Masters and Delivery Leads to manage all user stories - plan, estimate, prioritise, kick off, and backlog refine.
· Liaise with wider Foodstuffs teams. e.g. UX / Analytics / Membership & Property/Marketing. Portfolio leads.
· Mentor other members in the team and help to introduce new frameworks and ways of working.

You’ll be a sharp analytical thinker with strong commercial acumen, and exceptional communication skills to drive meaningful outcomes. You’ll thrive in ambiguity, quickly absorb new information, and translate complex problems into actionable solutions. With deep technical fluency and a solid grasp of digital and retail environments, you’ll be able to validate ideas through data, ensure alignment to business strategy, and lead teams to deliver high‑quality, impactful products in a fast‑paced Agile environment. Highly organised, influential, and collaborative, your ability to build strong relationships across the business and guide teams with confidence will consistently deliver value-driven results.
You’ll also have:
· Proven strength in reporting performance and outcomes, including OKRs
· Skilled in product techniques to identify root problems and uncover value opportunities
· Experience in a range of facilitation techniques and adapting the technique to the situation.
· Experience in a range of planning techniques that enable the business to understand the size of work ahead on the roadmap, and which levers we can move to help deliver efficiently on time.
· Proficient in manipulating and understanding data and data structures, good knowledge of APIs and web/mobile development practices.
· Good understanding of web technologies.
· Experience with content management systems, web standards, HTML/CSS/scripting, SEM, SEO, Google Analytics, Multi-variant testing tools, digital performance tools and social media platforms.
