Senior Digital Designer

Are you excited about shaping engaging digital interfaces that delight users?

Do you enjoy blending creativity with technology to deliver impactful digital solutions?

About the team:-

Elsevier Creative is the driving force behind our brand's visual and verbal identity. We design everything from videos to social posts to infographics and thought leadership pieces, telling stories that inform and inspire in every way we can. It’s literally about making people think.

About the role:

We are looking for a senior, multi-disciplinary digital designer to join a fast-paced, dynamic, global marketing group. We see design as visual storytelling, so we’re looking for someone talented who can translate our brand identity into marketing activity that engages visually and emotionally. The ideal person will be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to the final deliverable. Data visualisation and editorial design will feature strongly too, so expertise in these areas is essential. And it’s a senior designer role, which means being able to balance multiple projects simultaneously and working well under pressure, often to tight deadlines, while following corporate guidelines.

So, show us your expert knowledge of design software, the creativity to turn it into compelling communication, and the experience to work on several projects at the same time. And we’ll show you a job where your design skills can help change the world for the better.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create inspiring, strategic, and innovative campaign ideas that work online and offline.

  • Visualising and creating concepts, giving direction on photography style, imagery, typography, and iconography.

  • Acting as a brand ambassador to ensure designs follow our brand identity guidelines, maintaining consistency and compliance across our work.

  • Managing creative production through our design workflow system, Monday.com.

  • Consulting with internal stakeholders to determine objectives, background information, budget, design approaches, styles and techniques.

  • Transforming complex data into compelling visualisations for social/digital media, supporting our global marketing campaigns.

  • Building interactive editorial content and supporting assets for our thought leadership programmes.

  • Partnering with our global Events team, providing creative direction for in-person and virtual events.

  • Working closely with Product to visually articulate how the Elsevier product suite helps solve our customers' challenges.

  • Collaborating with the Creative team, sharing ideas, best practices, problem-solving, and participating in developing project briefs.

  • Showing your knowledge and thirst to investigate, innovate, and develop trends with an emphasis on digital.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a senior graphic/digital design role.

  • Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

  • Degree (or equivalent) in graphic/digital design or related discipline.

  • Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software.

  • Experience in video editing/animation (advantageous, not essential).

  • An interest in the latest digital technologies, software, and growing trends in the creative industry.

  • Core competencias-

  • Creativity – naturally.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Confident in presenting creative pitch presentations.

  • Able to engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

  • Enthusiastic, initiative-taking, and with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills – able to multitask and balance conflicting priorities at any one time.

  • Must be able to work with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment, business intelligence, or analytics engineering.
