Responsibilities:  

Supervise 

  • Work with Creative Lead to oversee the creation and production of design solutions for creative projects of all types. 
  • Oversee guidance on creative execution with external vendors and agencies.  

Create 

  • Strive to develop digital concepts that push the creative and technical boundaries while understanding how to balance limitations to reach amazing results. 
  • Participate in concept creation for projects ranging from digital adaptation and creation to video/photography.  
  • Fully leverage AI and relevant tools to execute effective concept materials (mood boards, storyboards, references, etc.) 
  • Design and execute digital campaign and platform projects using art direction, visuals, layouts, motion graphics, animations, and UI, demonstrating strong skills in design sensibility, visual communication, and typography. 
  • Create visual design specifications, prototypes, and maintain design systems for consistent design. 
  • Work across platforms and media including digital, events, CRM, and e-commerce to build experiences of varying levels of complexity. 

Manage 

  • Manage the quality of concepts and designs throughout all stages of a project. 
  • Work with the Project Management team to ensure projects are executed on-time and on-budget. 
  • Review creative execution to ensure the best work that is consistent with brand direction. 
  • Orchestrate organization and execution of design assets (typography, images, logos/icons, etc.) for all projects. 

Mentor 

  • Mentor and nurture Designers and Junior Designers.  
  • Help set Designer goals that align with the individual and team and perform reviews when necessary. 

 Communicate 

  •  Work effectively in a bilingual environment (Mandarin and English). 
  • Confidently articulate creative rationale and enjoy leading design conversations. 

Collaborate 

  • Work collaboratively with Copywriters and other team members for clarity and transparency.
  • Participate in content and creative brainstorms and consistently provide ideas relevant to marketing and digital landscape trends.
  • Facilitate communication, collaboration, and learning across local and global teams to ensure creative and content alignment.
  • Work with Marketing teams to ensure the most creative and effective work is created.

Requirements: 

  • Art based and skilled in the areas of conceptual, visual, and experience design. 
  • Strong visual sense and superb design skills (typography, layout, image, etc.). Well-rounded and possesses a good knowledge of UX principles.
  • Strong understanding of latest interaction and UI design principles, digital/web technologies (html, css, js), as well as the emerging design trends. 
  • Solid knowledge of responsive design for commerce, social, and other related platforms with a focus on mobile. 
  • Experience with creating motion graphics / animation preferred. 
  • Experience with shooting especially for events is a plus.
  • Experience with leveraging AI tools for visual creation and concepting. 
  • Full command of relevant software tools including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Figma. 
  • Ability to assess the big picture all the way down to micro details. 
  • Solid interpersonal skills along with good verbal, written, and visual communication capabilities. Good presentation skills. 
  • Deep understanding of local market creative, culture, sensibilities, and nuances with a solid knowledge and understanding of design, usage behaviors, and engagement methods for major commerce and social (e.g. Wechat, Weibo, etc) platforms in China. 
  • Native command of the Chinese language but can equally communicate effectively in English. 
  • Proactive and a constantly curious self-initiated learner that is fearless in tackling multiple projects under tight deadlines. 
  • Self-motivated and resourceful. Strong work ethics and takes pride in the quality of their work. 
  • Effective organizational skills and with extreme attention to detail. 
  • Flexible and positive team player that enjoys working in collaborative scenarios across teams, disciplines, and regions. Equally effective when working independently. 
  • 5+ years of creative experience in areas including advertising, digital web/interaction/interface, and graphic design within an advertising/design agency, in-house agency, or a combination of both. Ideally have had some experience managing a team.
