Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Remote, US Full Time

About the role:

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles, ensuring top-notch security and efficiency in processes. You will collaborate with clients, guiding in the design and execution of containerized and boundary solutions. You will take a leading role in the construction of CI/CD pipelines, driving the efficient delivery of software updates. You will also be responsible for championing the GitOps principles for software delivery.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewall and Appgate
  • 5+ years of experience working with containerized systems, including ownership of end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native architectures on AWS, integrating enterprise-grade services with a strong focus on scalability and security.
  • Expertise in Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices to drive efficient, secure software delivery.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using cloud services, automation tools, and modern version control systems such as GitLab.
  • Experience leveraging Infrastructure as Code and microservices architectures to enable reliable, repeatable deployments.
  • Ability to manage and operate service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) and advanced networking components in distributed systems.
  • Implement and utilize log management and analytics tools to support observability, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to automation, system efficiency, and security best practices.
  • Experience in engaging directly with customers to support onboarding, operational support, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Obtain Security+ or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification within 6 months of employment with Raft

Highly preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CGRC, or other DoD 8570 IAM Level 2 or higher certifications 
  • Experience in a software factory or DevSecOps environment such as Platform One 
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret 

Work Type:

  • Remote – With preference to candidates within 40 miles of one of the following locations: Colorado Springs, CO; San Antonio, TX; McLean, VA; Boston, MA; Tampa, FL; or Dayton, OH
  • May require up to 25% travel
