We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer at Merkle in Sofia. 

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our AWS infrastructure. You will drive automation, reliability, and delivery efficiency across a high-scale, security-conscious stack. This is a hands-on role with real ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve AWS infrastructure at scale, including networking, security, cost optimisation, and reliability

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices that accelerate delivery and reduce operational risk

  • Build and operate end-to-end observability: log ingestion, dashboards, alerting, and APM

  • Manage Kubernetes workloads on EKS, including cluster operations and deployment strategies

  • Enforce secrets management, IAM policies, and security controls across the environment

  • Lead incident response and drive systemic reliability improvements

  • Set technical standards and act as a senior stakeholder in architectural decisions

  • Document infrastructure, runbooks, and processes to production-ready standards

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience with large-scale AWS production environments

  • Deep proficiency with Kubernetes and EKS

  • Strong IaC skills with Terraform; Helm proficiency for Kubernetes package management

  • Proven CI/CD experience with Jenkins and GitHub

  • Hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack and log ingestion pipelines at scale

  • Experience with New Relic for APM and infrastructure monitoring

  • Proficiency in Python and Bash; additional languages a plus

  • Solid grasp of AWS security services: GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, Shield, KMS, IAM

  • Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management

  • Strong networking fundamentals in cloud-native environments

  • Fluent English; strong written and verbal communication

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • SonarQube, BlazeMeter, Artifactory experience

  • AWS certifications
